Eschalon: Book I is 10 years old, and now FREE!

posted in: News | 11

2017 marks the 10th anniversary* of the release of Eschalon: Book I, and to celebrate we are giving it away! Yep, it’s free, now and forever! You can download the full, pre-registered copy here or through GoG or Steam**. As if this cake needed any more frosting, Book II and Book III have been reduced in price, too.

Thanks for 10 great years! It’s been an awesome adventure, and we are looking forward to what the next 10 years brings.

Technically, Book I was released in November 2007, but we wanted to celebrate now.
** As of this writing, Steam was having trouble digesting the new prices (FREE?!? Have you gone mad?!?). It may be a day or so before you see those prices change.

@Titus: No translations available for Book I because, “Most of the text in Book I is stored in proprietary files which makes it very hard to give to others for translations. Book II and III do have french translations though.

I heard about the game few years ago but never made it to play or even try the demo. Once I read Book I is free I gave it a try. It sucked me into completely. I bought Book II a week later, after I finished part one. Yesterday I finished the second book. And bought Book III a minute later čśÇ
Thank you for the encouragement to try your game. It is a great game indeed.

All of you who like old school cRPGs don’t hesitate to try this one if you haven’t already..

    Now, let’s begin Book III…

Any plans to convert the Trilogy Edition on Steam over to the newer “complete the set” bundle type. I don’t mind paying to add Book I to my library but I’m not going to pay for the full package again, especially not when I already own them elsewhere as well.
