Well I mean putting the Mercantile skill that high makes money essentially worthless . You don't ever have to buy anything because the prices become negative, and everything you sell is more than 200% its original worth. I think that most of the skills have appreciable limits - for instance, 99 Cart...

I actually figured out all of the spots for your stats and for fun, changed mine to 99. I would hope that no one starts flaming me. I've already won the game 3 times, so I feel free to edit it all I want. For those of you who are so "moral" that they never cheat - I don't know why you'd be...

Hey, I see what you mean. From a lot of watching, it appears that every 3 points you go up on a stat or skill actually affects the stat or skill used. I can't tell you the exact %, but I do know that every 3 levels of Dexterity adds one to your "To Hit" percent. I'm going to assume the sam...

Death Bug

If you're clicking wildly, using a ranged magic spell, you can kill a creature twice, even three times in a row. I did this a few times without realizing it until I read the list and saw that I'd killed ONE Noximander twice in a row for 45 experience points each time. Seems like a bug right there! A...

I've figured out a few things from playing a couple of times: Dexterity is your only "to-hit" stat. The higher it is, the higher the chance. I had a Dexterity of over 40 (using some rings, too), and I always had a 98% or more to hit. The Bless spell is CRITICAL in being able to hit as just...

Sure,I do that as well. And so do many GMers I know. But its never present in a cRPG. It was present in Oblivion. You needed to constantly repair your armor and weapons because eventually they'd shatter. I completely agree - it's beyond the realm of belief that anyone can carry 600 arrows along with ...

Ha!

Somehow I doubt it...but it's not something amazingly important. Just means you get a few thousand more xp (300+ for each Giant, 400+ for the chief).

Giants

I got the Giant's promise to help at the Citadel, and then in keeping with my evil nature, killed every last one of them.

They still showed up at the Citadel anyway! I would think that their promise would be void if I slaughtered their chieftan and tribe...

Magic

I'm very fond of the old D&D games, having played them as a child (when they came out. I'm only 24!). Low-level spells, like Magic Missile never got too powerful (max of like 25 points damage), but they got powerful enough as you gained levels that you wouldn't need to waste a huge amount of the...

...great way is to set the auto-walk to whatever direction you want and then press the Windows key or ALT-TAB out of Eschalon. In an instant you'll cross the entire map. This works with resting, though unfortunately it'll mean you'll rest until you get interrupted. Once though, I didn't, and rested ...

Cool!

I found what could be a bug/exploit. It's nothing that really alters the game, but if you're traveling across a long expanse of nothing, just hit the Windows key to go back to the desktop and the second you do, you're instantly transported to as far as your character can walk!

Just my idea of a change...

...probably the only things I would seriously love to see changed is: Quick travel should be based on map - it's horrible to sit there and walk through 4 maps to get to one place because it's in between two quick travel points. And for those that say "get the portal spell" - I'm a ranger a...

Just make sure you don't drop the letter. You don't need to have the quest to actually complete it - you can kill them first (I did), but you have to deliver the letter to William.
