Re: Equipment swapping

It is the number of items that changes. Count the differences between your current equipment and your preset.

Re: Eschalon: Book II or Book I

There are a variety of approaches to character design, so I'd say it is definitely replayable at least once with a significantly different approach. Depending on what styles of play you like, you may enjoy playing through the game several times. Loot and vendor items are random, so you won't necessa...

Re: Preferred new skill training method?

Don't read the book until you have purchased as much training as possible (either 0 or 8 levels).
Don't spend skill points until you have read the book.

Re: Spell Quota

Do you mean macro, or possibly queue? The closest available is assigning spells to the number keys. Press "M" to open the spell menu. Select the spell and level you want. Then, press the number key you want the spell assigned to. Once you are done, you can do the following: press 1, right-...

Re: Book II Game Rules: Hit or Miss?

I turned on hunger/thirst and decay because I thought they would make the game a little more interesting. I turned on the seed because I don't like the save/reload method of item generation and it would prevent me from doing so accidentally. I was pleasantly surprised to see an in-game bonus was pro...

On a related note, holding shift while left-clicking allows you to change your facing without moving. (Somebody posted that on this forum somewhere, but I don't remember who.)

Re: STAT EFFECTS

With a pair of Lore rings and reading the skill book, you will have Lore 5, which should help a lot.

Good to know. Is it documented somewhere? I don't recall seeing any reference to this feature.

The only way I know of to turn without leaving your square is to attack in the direction you want to face.

Odd. I would expect the vellum (used for writing on) would go in the container slot.

Don't sell the ring, though. There are some nice tier 2 Divination spells.

The powder keg is placed in the square immediately in front of you. Make sure you are facing the square you want the powder keg in.

Re: Feats and Weapon Skills Discussion

I am not convinced it is necessarily bad for some weapons to be more effective than others. An awful lot of your suggestions seem centered around increasing damage. Do you really believe weapon damage is too low? If so, perhaps weapon skills should increase damage directly. I think feats are more in...
