Re: Fallout 3

Oblivion (like many 1st person shooters -- any with head bob or where you have to turn around quickly ) made me motion-sick, plus my reflexes are no good anyway. So, so much for that.

Thank you for making me feel young, as I am merely undead. In fact, when I voted, I was still adult.

I like the categories. I think about the eggs, larvae, and pupae when I play (shudder) online games.

I completely agree with you. Modern mainstream RPGs have become consolized hybrid shooters. I have neither the skills nor the desire to play them. I have the sneaking feeling that with EA buying up Bioware (which has been consolizing itself anyway), I won't care for Dragon Age. I don't have a soluti...

Sales- they have been good, but I expected them to be good the first day. Ask me again in two weeks and I'll have a better forecast for the success of Basilisk Games and the future of the series. OK, I waited more than two weeks. Any updated forecast? Any support from the Mac and Linux gaming commu...

Actually, you can't use a bow and arrow and torch at the same time. You can "equip" a bow, which presumably means just holding the bow in one hand, but once you try to fire it (slot the arrow, using your other hand), the torch goes out.

If it's not a party, I would at least like to be able to select the sex of my character!

A game that no one has mentioned (and that probably reminds me most of Eschalon) is Faery Tale Adventure 2 - Halls of the Dead.

I was level 3 in this dungeon, and I could run away and snipe at them just fine. Used up my arrows, but killed both of them with just lvl 1 Cat's Eye and Bless spells.

Ah, I think I get the message now -- you're saying that when the spell wears off, the map is WORSE than it was when you originally wrote it, using your skill-boosting sandals -- it reverted to the way it would have been if you had written it without the sandals.

No, it's just a magical glimpse, like looking into a crystal ball; it doesn't actually write anything to your map. I think it would be a poor and unbalancing choice to give you a map for a few easily refillable mana points that would cost many precious skill points to get.

Darn, I was hoping someone would have an answer for this by now, since I still have the blacksmith closed out of his shop. Incidentally, I noticed there don't seem to be any consequences to "X has heard a crime being committed" even when X sees you coming out of his premises. Is that just ...
