Re: Code for Wizardtorium

Alas, the brightness fix in Options doesn't do anything for me, wherever the code is supposed to be showing. I'm on a Max running the current version of Max OS (10.9.2) with the display brightness at max in System Preferences. And having installed XQuartz. I downloaded the "fixed" version ...

Code for Wizardtorium

One of the earlier posts suggests that you need the Reveal Map spell to get the code that opens the Wizardtorium. I haven't got it and none of the merchants has it either at this point. I don't want to spend hours walking around waiting for it to show up in a merchant's inventory. Is there another w...

changing the direction keys

I'd like to change the N, E, S and W direction keys back to the up, right, down and left arrow keys as they were in Eschalon 1. How would I refer to those keys when updating the general.cfg file with Textedit?

thanks

Contents of DVD

I ordered the DVD and was told that it would be shipped on May 14 and contain all three versions. What does it mean, then, to say that the Mac version will only be released on the 26th? (I'm using a Mac)

Re: New gaming sites....

I found Exchalon through a (favourable) review in MacWorld. Have more or less given up looking at sites that are specifically for games because there are so few for Mac OSX

Re: Female vs male character attributes and skills

Political correctness is a bane! Strength and endurance differentials between the sexes are well established, and don't need defending. But differentiating on the basis of race!! now that would need defending...maybe, though, given the Olympic results you could have a "Jamaican" category t...

Female vs male character attributes and skills

I am wondering whether you plan to give female characters gender-specific attributes and skills (at least in terms of probabilities at the outset). A female would tend to start with lower strength but higher endurance, for example, making cleaving or bludgeoning weapons a poor choice but magic and r...

Re: Things you'd like to see in Book II User's Manual

Assuming that you want to make more or less the same use of forums as with Book I, why not just say in the Manual that they are available, and indicate the range of uses (desperate to argumentative) they can be put to -- that way the Manual itself could be kept quite short.

Congratulations and a suggestion or two

As a 70-yr-old it's a while since I've played a serious computer game, but this has been engrossing. Couple of suggestions, though. While all my frustrations were satisfactorily dealt with by reading through forum items, I think you might do well to have an online user guide as such, where players c...
