Re: Suggestions for upcoming patch

While discussing merchants' gold and patch suggestions: When getting stuff repaired from weapon/armor vendors, the required fees do not end up in the merchant's gold pool, as one would expect. Is this a reflection of a natural habit of shop clerks to make some extra money, unaccountable from their b...

Re: Lockpick?

Doh, just spotted it among the Innkeeper's wares. 3,5 hours late, I'm done with the demo now. Oh well, serves me right.

Re: Daggerfall is now Freeware

Works perfeclty under DOSBox, there's only one bug of note remaining in the patched version (the dreaded 'void').
I played around to refresh some fond memories, but Daggerfall hasn't aged that well.

I'm off to replay the fan-patched Arcanum in 1920x1200. :)

Re: Spiderweb Games

I tried to get into the Spiderweb games several times, but it's obviously not a strong match for me. One thing I did like, however, was the keyboard controls - playing without a mouse was rarely this smooth and fun.

Re: Albion

I played Albion back in the days. Being an avid Amberstar/Ambermoon fan, It was a natural buy for me, as this game is made by the same guys (it was originally meant to be the last part of aforementioned trilogy). Alas, I didn't finish it (got stuck shortly before the ending, dunno the exact details ...

Re: What type of engine for Book II

Even tough both Wizardry 8 and Dungeon Master are among my most favourite RPGs, i voted for option #1. Please keep the engine! :) I have nothing against party-based roleplaying (see above), but I had lots of fun with book 1 and want book 2 to be the more of the same, just a little more refined. The ...
