Let's see here... bot, has enough intelligence to recognize an awesome game, speaking as if from another time period...

Re: How long have you been waiting for Book II?

Pretty much since I beat Book I for the first.

Around 2.5 years, I guess?

Re: Game release plans

My typical plan for when a game comes out is to wait a few week/months until the game is cheaper then consider getting it. My fallback plan for new releases is to get them asap and then set myself down for several relatively consecutive hours of gameplay. I'm thinking this is the more likely outcome...

Re: On 'Buffing': A Review of Book I's Melee-Related Spells

Nice work again, as usual, IJBall. Pretty much the only complaint I've had with Cat's Eyes (can't recall whether I actually posted this before or not) is that while it conveniently extends the range of the torch/lantern you are carrying or the Gravedigger's flame spell you had cast it does...

Re: What kind of character will you use in Book II?

All of them.

Though for my initial run-through I'm just going to wing it, no rules.
Skills and attributes as I see fit.

Plenty of time for other more focused stuff later.

And I WILL be trying out a merchant "class" character in Book II eventually, just to see how it compares to Book I.

Re: Great timing, Unbe!

It is a fantastic idea! And I particularly like the permanent loss of a couple points in intelligence or some other stat. But I think for items with importance on par with the Crux of Ages the Sorceress should additionally go on a tirade calling the player's character all sorts of humbling names and...

Re: Release the Demo

Well... because you asked so nicely and with such prodigious sibilance, I'm sure BW won't mind releasing the demo.

It will come out on May 12th (for Windows) and May 26th (for Mac/Linux) but only because you were so polite, Birdmon.

Re: Quick Poll - DVD or CD?

I always preferred fewer disks so I'll go with DVD, though I'm going to wait until Books I, II, and III are bundled together before buying any hard media.

Re: Do I need to play Book 1 to enjoy Book 2?

Pretty sure it's the same main character as in Book I but the events are happening several years later such that the character's skills have rusted and your need to relearn them again. But even so you won't need to play Book I to enjoy Book II, having not played Book II yet I'm not sure about this b...

Re: Book II CD or DVD

The only goal of the media o'er here in the USA is to get ratings. That's why there's never any good news on television... because the media competes to see who's best at showing the worst in everything. Fittingly enough this is also a result of the US capitalistic lifestyle. In general it's not so...

AWESOME! For me, that is just one day after finals! So I will be able to dive into Book II without a second thought and with no regrets. I am going to enjoy Wed May 12th. I am going to enjoy it hard. And I'm going to stop there before my choice of words sounds any creepier.

Re: Where is Phillip?

EDIT: Just found out who made that original comment about Siam: Except for Siam because he kills the world when threatened. I like that very much. Is Unclever a Solipsist, then? Not in real life. But that is my ad hoc explanation from an in game point of view explaining a game crashing bu...

Re: Wish List for Book II {Compiled}

While on the subject of lanterns (though this is more towards enchanting) I recently found in Book I that if you enchant a lantern it becomes a shield . The model changes from that of a lantern into that of a shield, and it no longer gives off light. This is similar to the effect of enchanting Demon...

Re: Where is Phillip?

Edit: I suppose you could kill Siam if you did so in one hit or from an unseen position (and were undiscovered in the process). I think in 1.05 BW fixed the crashing bug when Siam starts to cast a spell, but even before that, you could kill him if you are hidden in shadows the whole time so he does...
