Re: Difficulty of Book III
i think the game would be easy if you were not going for challenges. just me. i don't know. i did just get murdered so i may have to rethink the easy. Well true, even if I say the game feels easy, it's not like I never die. Sometimes you're just unlucky, try something or you're just being plain stu...

Re: Difficulty of Book III
I think that "difficulty" is greatly over-rated as a game attribute. I'm far more attracted by a game that is interesting, intriguing, well written, etc. I agree. Always hated it when a game has dumbed down features but it says that the game is hard because you can raise the hitpoints of ...

Re: Difficulty of Book III
What was more challenging in Book 3 start than in the earlier ones (or well, book 2), to my experience at least, was that there was very little food. I loved this, and I actually had to take foraging with my ranger to stock up on food. That was awesome!

Re: Difficulty of Book III
Ironman is just a different way to play a game, the ladder doesn't seem right. The ladder wasn't really 100% serious ^^' In general I find that in Book III the time is too short to develop additional skills like Hide in Shadows, Skullduggery, Alchemy, Foraging and such. This is a main point of crit...

Difficulty of Book III
Hey guys. Since I've been planning my eschalon mod for a few days now, and replaying the game to make notes on how stuff is done in the game, I've come across the question about the difficulty of the game. I started a new character, whose a mage and like in every book, mages are extremely overpowere...

Re: Impressions of Book III, some kind words, some harsh wor
I agree with pretty much everything you said. I started playing Eschalons when Book 2 had just come out. I loved the games to bits and finished them multiple times. So obviously I had high hopes for Book 3. I wasn't expecting it to be the grand RPG messiah or anything, but I was expecting it to be -...

Re: So I seriously cannot wait for the official modding tool
Thanks ^^ Yeah, I use xolotl's editor and well, yeah, it's a bit painful for not having a brush, especially with water, but you only need to do it once. I've used so many different map editors and I've seen some extremely unintuitive ones as well and I can say that this is one of the least frustrati...

Re: So I seriously cannot wait for the official modding tool
Mapping and level design is seriously my area, but I also love writing, both lore and dialogue. However, while being decent in these areas, I am terrible at scripting and coding. I can do it a bit, but definitely rusty. I would love to make scenarios seperate from the main game. I have tons of lore ...

So I seriously cannot wait for the official modding tools
Hey guys. Like the topic says, I'm dying to get my hands on the official modding tools. To slightly calm down the burning, I've been playing around with the unofficial tools. I thought I'd show you guys what I've gotten done. This took me around 30 minutes to make, although it doesn't have any inter...

Re: How do I blow up powder kegs
You can either shoot them with a bow or magic (shift + click). You can also create a fused keg with a timer.
Alternatively, you can of course poke them with your melee weapon although I wouldn't particularly recommend this, for obvious reasons.

Re: Wanted Mods List
These are all interesting ideas. I am definitely planning on modding like crazy. Although I'm not really interested in adding to the basic game. I would rather create seperate adventures. I have a crapton of lore written I haven't used on anything and I just might do that for an Eschalon mod. Is the...
