Re: The Sanctum: Mod for powerful wizards
Great mod! I just played the trilogy again for the first time in a few years, and I didn't even remember downloading this mod. I thought I'd found a new area I'd somehow missed on my other play-throughs. Of course, my no-magic knight in shining armor could only solve a couple of the puzzles. I had t...

Re: Thaermore Revisited - A Mod
I don't have a Mac version of Book I, but I'm guessing that the data folder is inside the Book I app bundle. Try control-clicking on the app and selecting Show Package Contents, then look in Contents/Files. There it is! I didn't even know Mac apps had "Show Package Contents". I always ass...

Re: Thaermore Revisited - A Mod
I just discovered this mod and want to try it out. How do you install it on a Mac? I don't seem to have a "data" folder for Eschalon I (but there is one for the E1 demo, oddly). I tried to copy the files into the Saved Game folder of a brand-new character, but now Eschalon crashes when I t...

Re: Foraging Info (SPOILERS)
I'd been thinking that Foraging might be a good skill to rework in the next Basilisk game (if there is one, inshallah). Make it more geographically realistic. For example, Willow Bark should be easy to find when you're in a forest, not so much in the desert. Likewise with brimstone near volcanic are...

Absolutely loved your Rockhammer Mine mod, and I can't wait to try out this one, too. That first one was brilliant, and I hope this one lives up to its predecessor's standard

Re: Book III Mod: Alchemist's Tower in Moonrise (update 4/11
That was fun. Nicely made! My character was about level 15, so it wasn't too painful (Ranger w/ultra-high dexterity and bow skill). I loved all the "gag" loot, the false hope of seeing all those sweet powder kegs, and all of the beneficial-but-toxic loot. Thanks for the hard work, and I lo...

Re: Traped
Assuming you picked up the key the basilisk dropped, it opens the door at the SW edge of the room (opposite the portal). However, it's all for naught if you can't get the two portcullises (portculli? portcullae? whatever) open. If you've got both of them open, you can get out. If not, all you can i...

Re: No Create Food spell?
Malachi's Gruel is the Book III version of Create Food. It creates food that you can eat, but it's worthless to sell (fixing the "Create Food + Innkeeper = Create Money" exploit)

Re: Eschalon Trilogy Post-Mortem
One thing is for sure: Eschalon is done. There will not be another Eschalon game, and the Eschalon engine will not be used again. Beyond this absolute truth, I am honestly just as as curious as our fans are to discover what is next for Basilisk Games! Well, I certainly hope that you continue creati...

I had another close call last night, barely catching it at the last moment:
First pick up the powder keg you're standing next to, then cast Supernova

Or you could hold down the Tab key, and it'll reveal the tiles. Mostly. There may be a little trial and error distinguishing 1's and 7's, and between 4's and 9's. Clever idea to make it different with each playthrough

I tried a powder keg, placed equidistant to each lever. Only one switch worked.

The arrogant douchebag Kirk Strongarm. "Can't get enough of my gear, eh? I can't blame you; my equipment is dazzling." and "Run along now, maybe the tavern wench needs someone to wipe the tables." On a separate note, the phosphorescent mushrooms in Mirkland. Very pretty, and a ni...

Re: hostile townspeople (Minor Spoiler, Maybe)
The purpose of Lucky is to get a massive influx of gold. If you wait until you have ~20k or so, gamble and win, you'll have 40k. He's the "cheat mode" for beating the Wealthy Lord challenge. So what if he's a sore loser and attacks? If you don't want to kill him, run away quickly. Drop a p...
