I returned to Crius Vindica with the Fire Crux and talked to both NPCs to get the next step of the quest, but the gate past the traffic light is still closed. I used a previous saved game to do it again, but got the same problem. Is there a known problem in the sequence, or something I forgot to do?

In contrast, the ranger (or any ranged attack fighter) has to deal with supply sourcing and ammo weight. After a while, the drudgery of dealing with materials pushes you to magic.
