Two questions about Lorewitch Level 1 (possible spoilers)

I've got two questions about the lever puzzle in Lorewitch Level 1. First off, when I first go into the tower, there's a portcullis which appears to be open, but I'm unable to actually go through it: http://apocalyptech.com/eschalon/forum/lorewitch.png Given the nature of the solution to this puzzle...

Couple of minor typos and a mislabeled "sconce"

Not a big deal, but figured I'd point out a couple of typos so that they could get fixed in future patches (these were noticed in the 1.02 release) - 1) On a table in the Thieves' Arcadia (where you find some numbers), it says "You cannot dicipher what it says" - should be "decipher.&...

Re: Selling expensive items, where?

Let's imagine situation. I have found axe with a cost of 15K. You found an axe worth 15k? I remember seeing (once) an item in a store which was about that expensive, but the most expensive item I've actually found in the wild was in the 5k range (which, so long as your Mercantile isn't too high, is...

Re: mapeditor?

Yeah, I'll be working on it. I had been chugging along on a bunch of map editor improvements for Book 1 which got completely derailed when Book 2 came out and I ended up throwing all my free time into actually playing the game. :) Now that I've actually finished the game, I'll hope to get banging on...

Re: Minor blood decal bug / Eastern Sylphwood

Just one more note here; I ended up noticing the same thing when I hit a Dragonel when it was flying over water... I'd expect there to be no mysterious floating bloodstain in the middle of a lake. :)

Again, hardly a big deal.

Re: Two Questions about the Storyline [Major Spoilers]

I know the Crux of Fire is precious to the Dwarves, but it just felt evil going in and murdering innocent Dwarves. Yeah, that was kind of bothering me too actually, especially given that you can then turn around and have friendly chats with the remaining Dwarfs in town at Dunmore. I dig that the Cr...

Re: Cartography Annoyance

I know we've been over this with book1 already, but maybe an in-game challenge option to not erase map detail could be provided...? Yeah, that'd certainly be nice, though I admit that it's probably a much more complicated problem than just a simple fix. Right now the mapping routines must just auto...

Minor blood decal bug / Eastern Sylphwood

Just noticed a bug in Eastern Sylphwood, while fighting some Rift Harpies... The Harpies, as you would expect, can fly over the chasm, but I noticed that they leave bloodstains in the gaps when you hit them with something (spell, arrows, etc), so for the rest of the game you'll have a floating blood...

Re: Cartography Annoyance

Cartography in general is quite weird, really. You'd think that even with only 1 Cartography point for your char, you'd think to mark down where large bodies of water are. "I'll definitely mark down that tree over there, but this gigantic river bisecting this entire map? Meh, just leave it blan...

Heh, well I would, actually, which is why I never play Ranger-type chars. :) Something for everyone, see!

Re: Savefile Character / Map Editor

ya know, if you made it into a seperate program/trainer (instead of people have to install Python and whatnot) it would be easier for all of us. Well, that's easier said than done, of course. On Linux systems (which is what I develop on, and use), all that stuff is typically already installed so it...

Re: Initial Impression

As it is, it just seems like intentionally adding annoyance for the sake of annoyance. At the start of the game, it creates a confusing, show-stopping roadblock at the time when you really don't need another one of those. Well, opinions will certainly differ. Personally I'm finding it to be a welco...

Re: couple beginner questions

Also, is it necessary to get the lockpicking skill for some treasure chests? Because on some of the chests I don't seem to be able to bash them open, my attacks show damage being done but the "hitpoints" of the chest remain the same and don't decrease. Technically you will eventually succ...

Re: dragonel nest[spoiler]

Another way is to lug a couple of explosive barrels over there, which is how I did it. The char marks around the ground are a clue that that's one way to go. I don't remember if it took me multiple barrels or not; I seem to think it took two. As an aside, I really love the moveable barrels in this o...

Re: Initial Impression

Figured I'd hop into one of these threads to say that EB2 is, so far, basically everything I could have hoped it would be. I'm having a blast with it, and it looks like it's already well on its way to being just as detrimental to my sleep schedule as EB1 was. Thanks for the great game, BW! My only c...
