Re: My FInal Thoughts Upon Finishing Eschalon B1 (No Spoilers)

Yeah, my character was a third attempt as well. In my first two attempts I got as far as Aridell after exploring most of North Parish. I was so happy I finally got a character I was happy with. ;)

Re: My FInal Thoughts Upon Finishing Eschalon B1 (No Spoilers)

But a person can't know that during character creation and when he's playing the game for the first time. I don't know about most people, but I don't usually play a game a second time through for at least two or three years after the first run-through.

My FInal Thoughts Upon Finishing Eschalon B1 (No Spoilers)

Hi all. I just finished Eschalon Book I after about 30 hours and I must say: very nice. Even though I've been a gamer since about 1995 and have been playing games for about ten years before that, I've never finished a CRPG before this day. Something about Eschalon was just so inviting, so comfortabl...

Re: Need Game Help (Shadowmirk, Goblin Citadel)

I managed to get in, but I've run into another problem. I have no idea what to do with the two chests. I've done everything I can do on the first floor but the Easter Egg thing and the chests. (I have one Easter Egg so far.)

Need Game Help (Shadowmirk, Goblin Citadel)

Hi all. I'm having a problem getting into Shadowmirk to continue the main quest. I can't get the door open, and I've explored all the land around it. I'm no spellcaster so magic won't work to get it open. I'm also unable to progress further inside the Goblin Citadel as all the gates are closed and I...

How Do I Identify Items Without Spells?

Hi all. I'm 20 hours into Eschalon, but I still haven't found a way to identify unknown items. Is it a spell only? Because I'm no spellcaster.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Down-Tuning For Faster Speed?

Well, I tried using the Activity Monitor to shut down everything while the game was running. No luck, no improvement. Based on the Monitor, I've got more than enough free memory and system resources. I'm thinking it has to be a graphics driver issue, but I can't locate any update drivers for the Int...

Re: Down-Tuning For Faster Speed?

Multi-tasking doesn't seem to affect the game. I have FireFox, Mail, Adium and Skype running (along with Finder, of course), but the game's speed doesn't seem to be any different. Still, though, I can't shake the feeling that rebooting my Mac did something to help.

Re: Down-Tuning For Faster Speed?

Outdoors, Low graphics or not, the game runs about half as fast as it does in the dungeons. It's not unplayably slow, but it's annoying all the same. It gets even slower when there's animated water tiles nearby. Compare it to the idea of walking through the outdoors and running through dungeons. Bot...

Down-Tuning For Faster Speed?

Hi all. I just bought Eschalon, and I'm having a lot of fun with it, but I've got me an annoying little problem: The game runs slowly in the outdoors. This is absolutely silly, as my MacBook can run the game Spore at nearly maximum graphical settings! Here are my specs: MacBook MacOS X Leopard Intel...
