Re: How much lore skill?

Forgot mention Mage INT 36 Lore 8 but also 2 rings of lore and still some items unidentified at end of game. The lore 8 was because I spend the book 2 points too soon not expecting lore requirement was that high.

Re: How much lore skill?

At end of game with a mage INT 36 or 39 not sure, some points in lore, probably 8, there was few items not identified. 17 in lore to identify all for an average INT seems high. Eventually identification gold cost should cost less and lore 10 and INT 10 should be enough to identify most items. If rea...

Re: ESCHALON TRILOGY - Q&A (SPOILERS)

If you go there, the "most interesting" interpretation is that Malkur is right and is lying and then do you choose his side? It's what I did the first time, Malkur was "obviously" right but was probably lying about his sacrifice. After this end, I just reloaded and choose the Sma...

Re: Difficulty of Book III

I don't like very high difficulty but with a mage I got the feeling too few combats had a good setup, still a good number, but many not. Not with a mage but with an Archer I already died at least 10 times in Book 1, I had even forgot the barrel slimes ambush! That ambush was perhaps a bit too mush b...

Re: Strong feeling of "half of the game cut before release"

Have made parts of the game as opening for future mods wasn't a good idea I think it was a good idea. I do wish that there was in game notation. I spent quite awhile trying to get into level 3 rockhammer. if a door/area is currently impossible, I think the game should tell you somehow... That's als...

Re: Difficulty of Book III

For me there was more than enough food in shops. And food prices was quite lower than in Book 2 and ha well I put some points in mercantile rather soon. But yeah it's a point rather pleasant, but as food price is always the same and the hero purse is becoming more and more fat, soon or later, it bec...

Re: ESCHALON TRILOGY - Q&A (SPOILERS)

No my comment doesn't support Erubor's Ending. That is another perspective. Clearly, for me, Malkur (and the which) presents the more logical issue, now is Malkur lying or not is a question that remain, he could as well just go back home and let the future he knows survive. Erubor is leading you to ...

Re: Difficulty of Book III

Ironman is just a different way to play a game, the ladder doesn't seem right.

With mage Book 3 seems easier, ok my character died once, exactly once ie I wouldn't have made ironman, but it died just because I was very inattentive.

Re: General Thoughts on Book III, So Far (some SPOILERS)

I put my thrown weapon game on hold after I found that I was having too much trouble with the north side of Elderoak Forest and the goblins. You really need high alchemy, about 21, to make lots of demon oil III and high dexterity so they hit. Yeah but if I can't have a good income of ingredients Al...

Re: ESCHALON TRILOGY - Q&A (SPOILERS)

I could have forget many elements but I don't see where are the two evil+good sides. Who is torturing? Only Malkur. Who is murdering? Only Malkur. Who is creating invading wars? Only Malkur. I don't see any ambiguity there's only one side using rather evil tools. There's clues on the Malkur ending? ...

Re: General Thoughts on Book III, So Far (some SPOILERS)

Level 1 Alchemy let you make fusing barrels or whatever its name (countdown explosion). Not vital as you can find some in shops, but can be handy in few cases.

EDIT: I was planing a replay with throwing weapon, foraging, alchemy. Looks like a wrong idea.

Re: Strong feeling of "half of the game cut before release"

Have made parts of the game as opening for future mods wasn't a good idea. It certainly created for some players the feeling of something missing. And it was pointless, modders will always find many places by themselves to insert new contents to the original game. Otherwise even if it will be more h...

Re: General Thoughts on Book III, So Far (some SPOILERS)

I tried wrote a user review in steam forum of the game (hope external links aren't forbidden) but it's more a review to people not knowing the trilogy so they decipher what's special, good and bad: http://steamcommunity.com/app/257870/discussions/0/540734423693440816/ In this thread a more specific ...

Re: Blue Meanies (Nidiara?)

Used poison from the spell to kill first those you see from rangers side. There's 5/6 of them. But it's very tedious, bad idea, moreover the rain seems cancel this poisoning plus they can resist a poisoning and cancel it. Bad idea but it helped when coming to the other side and have less of them to ...

Re: The Ending... [Heavy Spoilers]

Many players bashed the end of ME3 but myself I found it very good and at least not one of those happy end "you brave hero saved the world get married and have ton of child". In a way the Eschalon end alos avoid the clichés BUT for me it doesn't works at all. There's two elements not worki...
