Re: Character hacking...how important is it?
I'm not for hacks, and this game is no other. If you should decide to allow modding/hacking then I would mention this on the end score screen as well. This is only fair when comparing scores.

@BasiliskWrangler: Story assume NPC is dead even if he isn't
I love in Eschalon Book I and II that it is possible to create a Pacifist type of character that avoids combat. However the plot doesn't always take this option into account, counting on some NPCs to be dead at certain points in the story. In Book I a good example is the final battle. It is possible...

Re: STAT EFFECTS
I'm not too sure about this. In Book I there were traps that were immune to the spell, but that could be picked by skill anyhow. (Spoiler example)AgentTBC wrote:I hypothesize that a mage/cleric is also a better thief in many ways but I can't test this hypothesis.

Re: STAT EFFECTS
The description of Perception also mentions being able to better see hidden objects. Is this correct? I don't seen any mention of this here.

Re: What kind of character will you use in Book II?
All of them. Though for my initial run-through I'm just going to wing it, no rules. Skills and attributes as I see fit. Plenty of time for other more focused stuff later. And I WILL be trying out a merchant "class" character in Book II eventually, just to see how it compares to Book I. Th...

Re: Eschalon challenge games (spoilers)
I have a new, almost impossible challenge: Stealthy: Instead of killing an enemy, sneak past it. If it detects you, the challenge is failed. The only exceptions to this rule are those enemies you have to kill to continue your quest (the Hive Queen, Gramuk, etc.) Actually I did that one. By the way ...

Re: October/November Update
Does that count toward being part of the beta test? :) We'll post an online application for beta testers. For Book 1 we got over 200 applicants and chose about 15 to participate. I'm looking forward to it! I really hope to be able to be part of the Mac beta testing. However it be, I think it would ...

Same here for the beta testing! Perhaps all Destroyers could automatically get in the beta pool?

Re: Things I've Never Done in Book I (At Least, Not Yet!)
I've never reached higher than level 14, and man have I tried. Not even with the easter eggs, placing the stone and reaching destroyer. I've never played a fighter, and I probably never will in Book 1 I have never visited the lighthouse, but I will reload an old savegame to do so I never took tier ...

Re: If you achieve Destroyer, post here [spoilers]
Inspired by Zerikin and bruno321 I decided to create my own healer destroyer. Here are the results: http://mostrey.be/files/destroyer-healer-1.jpg http://mostrey.be/files/destroyer-healer-2.jpg There's two interesting things here: 1/ I have 4 armor items left that I could enchant with +3 armor so my...

The mage is a special kind of class, one that requires dedication and planning. You will find this thread very helpful: My thoughts on a pure mage.

Re: If you achieve Destroyer, post here [spoilers]
Congratulations Bruno! It's always great to see a healer put to good use. Could you also post a screenshot that shows your inventory and equipment and perhaps the bottom of your skill list?
