Re: Infinite Space
Um, bot? What? He just went on a hiatus, I guess, and decided to come back. Sorrrrttttt of like what I'm doing right now. :) Anyways, I looked into Infinite Space a while ago just because I love Platinum Games (or, more specifically, their former group -- Clover Studio) but avoided it after I heard ...
Re: The Quest
It's a fantastically deep RPG. It's even more complex, I'd wager, than something like Eschalon! (Not to say that it's better -- just more complex.) Great value for money, too... it's cheap and could easily last as long if not longer than something like Oblivion. Though the Elder Scrolls comparisons ...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
Bought the collector's edition of Dragon Age (and a couple of add-ons) for the Playstation 3, in a fit of over-confidence in how much I would love the game. I didn't. Mostly, I think it was the platform. Turns out that game controllers are the wrong tool for a complex RPG -- I want my mouse & k...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
So I picked this up as my first game of the... decade, actually. It is... amazing. Simply amazing. I can already see the hours of my life being eaten. The combat is surprisingly tough, but that is just how I like it. Very few games in general, let alone RPGs, are brave enough to offer up a challenge...

There is no demo on Steam. There's the character creator, if that's what you're talking about...dare49devil wrote:-I just downloaded the demo off of steam. I'll let you guys know what I think of it when I get around to it! =]

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
Hmm, after all the sex and gore scenes with rock music playing, I kinda tuned completely out of interest of this game. However, now that I bother to take a look at it, color me interested. It is considered to be a spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate series.

Re: Din's Curse
Sounds like a Diablo clone. Myeh. I got all action-RPGed out after playing Titan Quest obsessively. Plus, neither of their earlier efforts really stand out to me. Depths of Peril is fairly cool, I suppose, but it was incredibly generic-feeling. And Kivi's Underworld was more like an action game than...

Re: What was the first RPG you ever played?
I've been playing RPGs only for about a year now. Before that, I really only played FPSes and action-adventures. (Whatever those are! "Action-adventure" is incredibly generic, don't you think?) See, before this, my vision of RPGs was incredibly skewed. The only RPGs I knew were Final Fanta...

Re: Wayfarer Alpha 82809
The game's official site is here. http://benhem.com/games/wayfarer/ You can play it in-browser via Java.
I've known about the game for couple of months now. The developer fairly regularly updates, so there's always some nifty little feature or bugfix going up.

There's always WayFarer for a spot of (kinda uncharacteristically easy) rogueliking. http://benhem.com/games/wayfarer/

Re: Avernum 6 & Genforge CD
I refuse to play his games until he either lessens the price to around 20 dollars, or adds WALKING ANIMATIONS. For the love of god! Is it that hard? If you wait for multiple game CD-ROMs then you can buy several games at once for an average price of $20 or less. Right now you can get all 5 Geneforg...

For some reason, I love music, and have a couple of songs that I really like, but no bands I specifically like.
Except the Beatles.

Re: Daggerfall is now Freeware
You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it working. It's not like most DOS-box compatible games where you can just mount the cd, navigate to the directory and run the game. Here, you need to install the game, configure DOS-box's sound card emulator, patch the game, etc etc etc. It's probably ...

Re: Knights of the Chalice
Once the team fixes the insufferable font, this may be a must-be for me. However, 15 pounds is a tad too steep. I mean, the only reason I don't own Avernum is because Spiderweb charges ~30 dollars for it! Maybe more in the range of 15 to 20 dollars would be better, for both games. I'm also slowly be...
