I saw that on the RPGCodex, very interesting. I am suspicious of how many pirate downloaders actually go and pay money for a game they already stole. I bet there are some, but I bet there is a large number that dont. I'd bet that, too. Frankly, if someone pirated a game, liked it and finished it, i...

Book I has been reviewed by the popular French culture blog L'Ombre du Z and given a rating of four Zs, which equates to "Come get some!". I can't read French nor do I fully understand their wacky rating system, but they seem to like the game. Check it out here: http://ombreduz.blogspot.c...

I got it for dirt cheap a few years ago, but still haven't actually found time to play it so it's collecting dust on my shelf. I heard it's quite buggy though...

Nothing about your definition of "rpg" distinguishes it from an adventure game, and your definition has nothing to do with PnP roots of RPGs. Your example of Call of Cthulu is an obvious stretch which makes no point , since it is a stats based character progression ruleset at its core. At...

Misconception as to who's belief of what cRpg is? Roleplayng means to take the control of/pretend to be...a person etc. I don't believe the combat engine character development decides that a game is a CRpg , I just think that decides on what kind of cRpg it is, some are stat heavy and some are stor...

I began this game months ago, but never finished it. The minute implementation of 3E rules produces too tactical combats for me... too many options. Not a big problem though. The fact that the NPCs choose their loot and can leave you taking it with them is a far bigger problem IMO. I like to be in c...

As I've just finished the demo, I'll add my big kudos to The guys at Basilisk Games ! - The game is very well, done, in fact I can even say fantastically well-done for a small team like BG. - The game looks very bug-free. The only bug I've encountered in the demo happened when I tried to restore a s...

No real problem with speed here (at least for the demo). The game slows down sometimes, but it usually doesn't last more than 15-20 seconds. After, it's back to normal for 5 minutes or so. I didn't notice any pattern in the slowdowns, the only thing is that I never have slowdowns in the dungeons, so...

Yes, EOB went downhill with #3 (although the ending of EOB1 on the PC was the lamest thing I ever came across) I've just replayed (and finished for the first time) EOB3 some weeks ago and frankly it isn't that bad. The storyline isn't great, but the challenges are neat and some of them even "i...
