Re: Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?

This is low-hanging fruit, but it's appropriate on Labor Day to thank you for for laboring away on the new game.

As exciting as it is to know you have something real that people can play, it's just realistic that a great game is going to take time to build. Keep up the good work!

Re: Update - June 17

Your interface design has always been top notch, and the games are unusually intuitive to play. It's really nice not having a huge learning curve between the player and the game. Keep up the good work! Your instincts (including getting advice from others) are a big reason for your success.

Re: Testing - TRC?

This week I have been working on getting some new features into the combat round and trying out different combat music tracks. Who is providing the music for TRC? The music for Eschalon was wonderful, and I know you really care about how that ambience affects the game. Any hope of "Glorian" providi...

Whew! I'll work my ass off through the end of the year and then try to give you some more info on the game when we hit the 2 year mark of my first real "post-Eschalon RPG" update.
Make the update a Christmas present to your loyal fans

Re: The State of the Basilisk, Summer 2017

BW - this is really, really exciting news. Obviously you have a way to go before you have a finished game, but I am absolutely thrilled that your engine is finalized. Content next - sounds like great fun.

One question - is this to be a stand-alone game or a series of books like Eschalon?

Re: A few thoughts from my latest play through

Thought you might be interested to know that I downloaded Book I from the iTunes app store successfully. Don't know if the white squares will re-appear, but the game seems to start up smoothly and looks normal so far.

Re: A few thoughts from my latest play through

I think you've complained about this in the past. Is your Mac fully up-to-date, and are you using the very latest version of Book 1? The Mac is up to date. I just re-downloaded Book 1 and got Version 1.06, which is the version I had before. Strange huh? What is new is that I now have a BlitzMax err...

Re: A few thoughts from my latest play through

I started a replay of Book 1 a couple of weeks ago. Decided to make it challenging by using no magic and making my distance attack Thrown weapons. However, I play on a Mac. The maps covered in white squares is just too painful, so I dropped the idea.

Re: First time finished as a mage

So, the first question is - what is your difficulty level? If you are going hardcore, you need to be aware of Foraging. You will starve to death without it. Also, Repair is nice but is wasted at this point. Any blacksmith will fix your weapons for a nominal fee. You will want Divination eventually, ...

Re: First time finished as a mage

Well, I would probably tweak those stats a little myself. Maybe forget the Divination for a while, and put a point or two in either Unarmed Combat (barrel smashing and emergency defense when low on Mana) or Pick Locks.
