Re: Din's Curse Public Demo
I already payed for the game, 20 bucks and you can play the beta....not bad eh? Good game. I can't get this one clear. Let me know if I am right with what I'll say here: You paid $20, they sent you a beta version of the game which is the one you're playing now. When the full game is released, you'l...

Din's Curse Public Demo
I found out via BW's twits that Soldak has released a public demo of Din's Curse, available at Windows and Mac.
You can get it here.
I tried it and it's pretty nice!

Re: Beta Test Application
Say, are Beta testers proofing the Player's Manual for Book II, as well? (Improving the Player's Manual seems to have come up a lot in the Din's Curse Beta.) Just curious... Yes, though their main focus has been the game. We will probably post the user's manual here in the forum, publicly, to let e...

I've just tried this with both Ogre Strength and Nimbleness and got the same results.
I'm running Eschalon: Book I v1.04 on Windows 7.

Re: Two more butchered franchises...
Well, now that we're done talking about DRM, I'd like to go back to the topic's original meaning, and ask if any of you have played SimCity Societies... As far as I've read, it doesn't feel like the other SimCity games... Also, I'd like to make a "special mention" to Rockstar and EA:...

Re: Two more butchered franchises...
Well, I wasn't trying to defend piracy or promote illegal games... I was just saying that I thought it was a bit "fun" the fact that Ubisoft's new DRM, the one that requires you to be online as long as you play the game (and lately, DRM only seems to piss off loyal customers who pay full p...

Re: Two more butchered franchises...
I was looking forward to C&C 4. Me too, until I found out to play C&C 4 your computer needs to be connected to the internet at all times, even just to play the single player campaign. :? Guess I'll just be watching the cinematics on YouTube. This reminds me of Ubisoft and their simila...

Re: Mysterious blood red fog...
It's a common "bug" in Crakamir. It has happened several times in my PC. It seems to happen when there is fog, although I didn't try to reproduce this in Vela.
I was able to reproduce this bug in Crakamir in plain daylight without Gravedigger's Flame every time I attacked an Acid Grubb.

Re: Rebuilding Elderhollow
Elderhollow is almost finished! Today I fixed up the path out of town and some other roads. Just have to fix up a couple more buildings, finish the Inn's second floor and I'm done! Looks cool. Keep up the good work ! If you're looking to make "pre-war" stuff, how about Camp Thorndike ? The...

Re: Late to the Game
We're happy you loved the game! I'm curious, does Basilisk Games have any plans for games once Eschalon Book III is complete? Even rough ideas? I realize it's far off still, but I'm still wondering what's in store in the future. BW talked about a sci-fi themed RPG some time ago... If you want some i...

I think hatred towards a "thief" lasts forever...Arkos wrote:Would he have 'lost aggro' after awhile, or immediately started pummeling at me again if I would have returned, I wonder?

Re: I want to put some of my items into the chest in Aridell
But using demon oil was fun ! And it only took a few turns for it to burn, whereas using an axe or such takes awhile. But it's a lot more expensive. Never a sword. They break too easily. And, as Rutger Hauer said in Ladyhawk, "This sword has been in my family for generations. It has never know...

Re: I want to put some of my items into the chest in Aridell
Yeah, NPCs don't seem to care if you break stuff. There's a sealed barrel behind the counter at the inn in Blackwater. I threw a Demon Oil on it and ran around as it burned and the innkeeper a few tiles away didn't care whatsoever. You broke a sealed barrel with a Demon Oil???  Next ...

Re: Rebuilding Elderhollow
But, where are da pe-oe-pole?!?!! :P Seriously, this is pretty cool - one of my first ideas for a user-created scenario was to play in Thaermore "before the Fall", so this is pretty cool stuff. I've never sat down and tried to get the map editor to work (I think it's probably a lot of wor...
