Actually there is no way to do it without having read the appropriate letter, as far as I know. Even if you know what name to use it probably won't work before then.

How can we get some Spiderweb fans to take a look at Eschalon, without going to Spiderweb's forums and trolling the game? I know last year someone mentioned Eschalon there...and later the thread mysteriously disappeared. Ask Jeff nicely? Offer to share sales/demo information, and cross market his g...

If we are in the hive drone (bee) cave, then yes .. just play through the combinations (there are only 64). Or (spoilerish) I can tell you that the right answer is reflectively symmetrical (there's only 8 of those), both ways (now we are down to 4).

IMO spells are a bit patchy. Some of the 'buff' ones are seriously strong, whereas the direct damage ones are rather feeble (in that they don't scale well). If your mage is willing to pick up a weapon, even a bow, they are unstoppable before long, whereas if they insist on fire-darting (or flesh-boi...

'running awayness' seems to be a turn-by-turn decision .. if you wait long enough I think even damaged monsters will eventually come back at you. They heal too, of course (but not maybe as fast as you).

Saw it mentioned over on comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.rpg, and followed the trail back to the website .. oo, months and months ago. I enjoy these sorts of RPGs (if you like Eschalon, and you haven't found them yet, Spiderweb software has several in a similar vein). I suspect Spiderweb and Basilisk games ar...

You need to read the letter he gives you before you go handing it in to anyone.

Piracy prevention (or at least assessment)

Since the other thread got locked before I could add my 10 cents worth, I'd just like to add that I think it would be worth at least recording the email addresses of those that bought the game (to compare & contrast with those posting here). You can also then email them with details of the expan...

CE gives you a slightly better chance to hit, but only int he local 'lit up' area. PS words at any range (but only for monsters. It SHOULD BE only for WARM BLOODED monsters, but actually that is bugged). 8>.

Having now played 'the witcher' for a week I have to say that it is a great game poorly implemented. Crashes to desktop, crashes on exit (all probably from memory mis-management) graphics and sound glitches, and unbelievable loading delays (25 seconds to enter an abandoned house, no problem - 2-3 mi...

Re: Giants Village (spoilers)

1) Head S from the Loneloft marker, through the gate, and then as far west as you can get. Did you not buy the map from an innkeeper yet? Don't have the gate key? The Teleporter network will take you to a house due N of the giants village, iirc. Or you can get there via the Ossuary. Well the gate i...
