Scorpia posted an excellent and very detailed review on here site. Her conclusion: So is Eschalon worth playing? Of course it is. We have to keep in mind this is the first product from a tiny company. If everything had been right, what could they do for an encore? Seriously, though, the one big flaw...

I'd never thought that I ever can play Grimoire even if it's only an early beta. And I like it - very retro!

Nice Job with the map so don't take this as criticism when I ask why not make a more detailed map - similar to below. http://xs122.xs.to/xs122/07492/map1.jpg This map is from running around looking for Barrier bugs with my super char - he has cart of 98  It seems that you've explored every l...

Baron's Thicket is missing the small lake top left and all the water holes down that left side  Heh, you're right - Baron's Thicket was a pain to explore. Ok, I've completed Baron's Thicket and also corrected Shadowmirk. The map is now less blurry. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/Amas...

This needs to be bumped so it stays on the first page. Do you have any problems if I end up putting this on a fan site I am working on? Of course not, feel free to use it. I have also made a more spoilerish labeled version: http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/Amasius/Sonstiges/Eschalon/Eschmap....

Hm, I'd prefer a partybased Book II, but probably it's first and foremost an economic decision. If a new engine for a partybased system needs more time to build it costs also more money and has hence to sell more games. Is the market for partybased RPGs bigger, would it really sell more? That's poss...

I don't agree. Heal at level 6 costs 12 MP and heals 18-36 HP = on average 27 HP. My first melee character had at level 16 146 HP (Endurance only 20) and 78 MP. With this 78 MP he could heal exactly 6 times = on average 162 HP and thats not much more than a full heal. You need Divination at level 11...

Mostly 7. I've tried level 15 but didn't liked all the red dots and I think it's not necessary to map all chests and such.

Mapping Eschalon [Minor spoiler]

Greetings, fellow travellers! On my adventures in the beautiful but dangerous lands of Thaermore in the eastern parts of Eschalon I've discovered, that the old and famous map we all know is unfortunately at times quite inaccurate. So I took notes and made my own map. Although some areas weren't acce...

Spider silk seems hard to come by .. all the other ingredients show up in shops, but not spider silk (unless that was the alchemy teacher who got deaded by bandits early on). I had the same problem - in the beginning of the game I found plenty and the shops had it too so I stupidly sold it and late...

For me it was relatively easy, but I've developed my Rogue into some kind of unstoppable holy warrior and have avoided to spread the skillpoints to wide. The low level Divination spells are very useful for a melee character. Heh, first time I used the overpowered Haste spell was against the endboss ...

You can, no problem. With alchemy 15 you have a +3 effect instead of +2 (and not +5 or something  )
