Re: Anyone Else Played Bard's Tale IV
It's been on my Steam wish list for a while, but the mixed reviews are concerning. I was planning on getting it at a deep discount or after some patches improve the game.

Re: Is Basilisk Games dead?
If I ever have to close the studio, I would announce it. I wouldn't leave anyone wondering. And yes, RPGs are in our blood and I'll always be working on something related to role-playing. I don't think I will ever feel complete until this sci-fi RPG gets released, even if it takes 10 more years. And...

Re: Is Basilisk Games dead?
Dead?? Nope! :D We're here. We're working. After converting from BlitzMax to Unity, and moving from a 2D isometric engine to a 3D engine, and now back to a hybrid 2D/3D engine, it's been taking much, much longer to make any progress. RPGs are giant and require a lot of design work. Also, we've been ...

Re: *** CrazyBernie's Mega Fan Fiction Hangout! ***
They say that on cold nights in early April, under the shrouded moonlight that is filtered through the still bare maples trees, you can sometimes see the ghost of old man Bernie. He often appears to be sweeping, sometimes whistling a haunting tune that sounds both mournful and melancholy. Though, h...

Re: The State of the Basilisk 2018: A Year in Review
can't you use the Zodiac engine to throw together like, uh, a space tower defense game or something for a quick cash grab? :D The funny thing is, Zodiac was supposed to be a quick "cash grab" in terms of a short development cycle. The problem was that I couldn't cut corners; every time I playtested...

Re: What *exactly* are the differences between the classes?
Yep, that is correct! Although a class doesn't limit you in any way, it does "suggest" a career path via attribute shaping. For a real-world example, I was a skinny kid in high school- I could have played football but that was not what I was best suited for. Instead I played a lot of computer games ...

Re: The State of the Basilisk 2018: A Year in Review
Yep, I am the only full-time, regular paycheck employee, but I don't like to say "me" and "I" all the time. Other people, even fans, contribute to the creative process with ideas, suggestions, and donations. I work with other artists sometimes, or music composers. I may purchase an asset made by som...

That said; Zodiac!!! No, seriously, you put it on the shelf since you got bored. Well, don't you ever become unbored? Just blow the dust off and finish it already!!! :D I was just playing this last week. It is still very fun despite it mostly just a partial game with large pieces missing. It's alwa...

The State of the Basilisk 2018: A Year in Review
It's that time of year again, where I get to sit back and reflect on what Basilisk has done and what we have coming up n the next year. This year I am disappointed that we are not talking about release dates, and sharing cool screenshots and a game trailer. Our big Sci-Fi RPG, code named "TRC", is l...

Happy thanksgiving, Ssschah! And everyone else. Hope you have had a relaxing day away from coding and computers and all of that, Thomas! Thanks! I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, except of those of you outside the U.S., in which case I hope you had a splendid Thursday. I've been playi...

Re: Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?
I'd love to see a screenshot of that high-def isometric with Eschalon's textures, just so I have some eye candy to drool over. :) Unfortunately I don't have that running anymore (guess I should have grabbed a screenshot). But do you guys want to see what the game used to look like when it was in 3D...

Re: Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?
This sci-fi RPG is really unique in several aspects, in that nothing quite like it has been done before as far as I know... Will the change to isometric affect this uniqueness? A pity that you didn't go the Kickstarter route since you have a working demo and from what you've posted it was received ...

Re: Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?
I don't think you'll hear many Eschalon fans being upset about switching to an isometric engine ;) I'm glad to hear things are going well. I saw via RSS that you posted a similar message a couple of months ago but then quickly took it down. I was concerned that that was a bad sign. Well, it's been ...
