Re: Eschalon Nostalgia

Any idea when that might happen? I want that game lol It seems I repeat myself on this every 6-9 months, so I guess it's time to do it again. :D The Sci-Fi game has been through at several iterations, including a nearly 2 year development cycle with a full 3D / First Person engine, which I had to s...

Re: Book 1 expansion?

I am a bit tempted! I think the current version of BlitzMax is called "BlitzMax-NG" (Next Generation, I assume?). So I am going to go on vacation next week. When I get back, I will devote a full day to seeing if I could get Eschalon compiled again. I'll probably start with Book III, since that code ...

Re: Book 1 expansion?

I'm sorry, no. It would be a lot of work for very few sales overall. I am not even convinced that we could ever get the code to recompile anymore. However, interestingly I did see that BlitzMax has been revived as an open source project and has an active community. Perhaps one day when I'm bored I'l...

Re: Eschalon Nostalgia

Happy holidays to you Leezar. Sorry to hear you're feeling stressed out. Remember: Worry is the misuse of imagination. Try not to dwell on bad thoughts of events that have not, and may not, happen. But I understand that 2020 has been a very stressful year for pretty much everyone, so know that you a...

Re: Forum is Back - Yeah!

It's nice to feel that Basilisk Games is still a going concern. I missed being able to check in a see if anything was happening... I'm sorry Painted Lady. I'm sure it is very frustrating to be waiting on new info. Covid has pretty much brought everything to a halt for a number of reasons, of which ...

Re: Happy Fourth!

I got an image of me running into a bookshelf with a vr headset on, and it made me laugh loudly. Trust me, everyone laughs out loud when I tell them why I have a scar on the top of my foot. Half-Life Alyx is really, really well done- so much so that I literally forgot I was in VR and tried to run a...

Re: Happy Fourth!

Late reply because I was out of town. Hope everyone had a great time blowing stuff up! So, since I'm here, I thought I could give a bit of an update: Well, the only thing I have to say is that Covid-19 has pretty much brought work to a halt. Even before the virus had shut most of the economy down, b...

Re: Basilisk Update 2020

Only a few days now and we'll be approaching the six year mark since Basilisk Games released their last game. I know 6 years seems like a long time...and it is...but after Book 3 I took a much needed break while continuing to support and market the trilogy. BlitzMax was officially abandoned (only t...

Re: What about Grimoire?

Honestly, I'd be interested in giving it a try too. My worry is that it might be too much. 600 hours, and I read there are several large maze maps. I dunno...I don't really have the patience for large maze maps any more.

I've never played Grim Dawn (#9 I believe) I could give that game a run through for, you know, inspiration.

Re: Zorin OS

It's an Ubuntu variant (according to wiki). Looks nice! Personally, I *love* Linux. But as a developer, I can't use it as much because I also require Adobe Creative Suite to do my job (and a couple other critical Windows-only apps) and so I am stuck on Windows. I've tried to go full Linux in my stud...

Re: Basilsik Update 2020

If its not an app, im all in. Not an app. Right now Windows only on Steam. It's being made with Unity, so a Mac and Linux port would be easy to do if it sells well. On the other hand i am still looking forward to play the Basilisk sci-fi game, whatever time it may take to finish it. Thank you for y...
