Re: Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?

A couple people have asked for an update, so here's your Labor Day news: August testing went well. Lots of issues discussed and improvements to be made, but overall I feel like we've got a really great RPG here. Our tester really enjoyed what he saw, and I think It will be worth the wait for everyon...

Re: Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?

Years ago I would have been the first to respond to a thread such as this. How times change. No worries, PM. The new game is not isometric and it's not fantasy, so I expect I'll alienate quite a few long-time fans with it. Still, it's what I've wanted to do for years so either I'll sell enough to k...

Re: Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?

I've got someone lined up for the August test. Sorry, it's nobody who responded here, but it is someone who has helped test before and has been lurking around here for many years. They contacted me via PM. I will likely take comments and suggestions from this person, update what I feel needs to be u...

Re: Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?

Oh, I should also say that TRC is NOT an isometric, sprite based engine. It is not the next-gen Eschalon engine. This game will require (at least) a mid-level gaming PC and a decent graphics card. The engine is full 3D with modern GPU effects via DX11/OpenGL. So dusting off a 10-year-old PC with 2 g...

Who wants a sneak peak at TRC?

Here's the situation: We're making a sci-fi RPG that is different in many ways to anything that has been done before. Because of this, it is absolutely essential that we make sure the gameplay experience is accessible to as many players as possible. While a lot of "inside" people (colleagues in the...

Re: Update - June 17

I had a lengthy meeting this past weekend with one of my lead testers (a guy who has helped with everything I've done since Book I) and he gave me some much needed feedback on the interface. Due to the nature of TRC not being a "traditional fantasy" RPG, it is more important than ever that we give t...

Re: eschalon book ii powerpc

No, it is not in my code archive. If anyone out there has a copy of the Power PC version of Eschalon: Book II, it would be appreciated if you could share it!

Update - June 17

I was just sitting here drinking coffee and thought "I should post an update on the forums". So I am. Nothing worth posting to the front page, just a message letting you core fans know that I am working hard as ever on the new game. We've made some great progress, though game content just feels like...

Re: Back from being banned

Glad to have you back! Apologies for the ban, but it makes sense that it was through a VPN. We sometimes have to block entire subnets of IP addresses because we start getting bombarded.

Re: What are you currently playing?

I really loved Doom 2016. I don't think I've ever seen a more optimized 3D engine in my life.

I thought Hollow Knight looked great, but I'm not much of a platform gamer. Might have to check it out on sale this summer.

Re: What are you currently playing?

PixARK looks really interesting. I've never heard of it. Let me know how well it continues to develop, I might pick it up after it leaves early access.

You only have to mark 1 post. When I target their username, the system will delete that user and all posts that user made. No need to mark every post.

Thanks for everyone's help in keeping the spam under control.

Re: Far Cry 5 initial impressions

Liberating outposts became so much easier after I purchased a decent gunship. I can rain .50 cal bullets down on the cultists from a safe distance and then its just simple mop-up work when the bulk of them are gone. Yeah, it gets harder after John Seed's territory. I'm working on Faith's territory n...

Re: Far Cry 5 initial impressions

Heh, I sort of like the story. It's clearly exploring the idea of the "American Taliban", sort of an alternate universe where we allowed religious extremists take hold of a remote part of Montana. Liberating towns, freeing prisoners, and sniping cultists from afar is pretty satisfying. Though, this ...
