Re: stone golem

honestly I wished for some more golems... I killed everything, explored whole lava caves, I missed some really tough battles. The Golem had no chance with my lvl 20 Ranger. Bow 7 dmg, Mithril Arrows, Haste,Bless,Keensight, one explosive barrel. his regen skill had no real effect. I still miss some e...

Re: My thoughts of Eschalon Book II

So really you're not physically drawing the map but some how magically holding it in your mind. Then it ends up to being just a problem with the name of the skill. You're talking about something pretty close to "Spatial Awareness" and definitely NOT "Cartography", with it IS abo...

Re: "The Secret of Fathamurk" FAQ

Sorry to necropost, but is the Secret included in the current version of Book II available on Steam? Thanks. :) Yes, it is. Steam has now the 1.05 version, which automatically includes the new content. And this time they updated it about a week after the update here was launched. Unlike with 1.04, ...

Re: What we like and don't in an RPG

I'm gonna be blunt here. I don't like everything that is a staple of JRPG's. That is all. And I, my good sir, second that. On the "like" side: * Low level fantasy and grim world . Gothic being the finest example. And this is quite ironic being mage my favorite class, I know. But the point...

Re: Finished Book 2 as a Mage (spoilers)

Do you know if for a fact ? ;) if you do it would be a one huge spoiler for book3 and our lives ...better start growing my head and eyes right now...lol :D About the future, present and past - there are so many theories that there is no point in arguing, some even say there is no future and everyth...

Re: Which did you enjoy best Eschalon I or II ?

If you really liked Book II then, really, go ahead and pick Book I already. Why? Because it has one of my favorite starting dungeons ever. Really, going through that mysterious downstairs dungeon/cellar in that burned and abandoned town was just about as right as you can get it in a cRPG. I went dow...

Re: How to use portal ?

Sure, ten is typically enough for offense, but whenever I play a mage of any sort, I always end up wishing that I had another "row" of spell hotkeys to use (personally I'd like it if there were two "rows" of ready slots that you could switch between with a hotkey, so you're stil...

Re: How to use portal ?

Which reminds me that there should be more quick-spell options in Book3. In late game you have much more then 10 spells (at least in my case). It'd be handy, but I'm not totally convinced. Ten hotkey slots should be enough for all the combat spells, and you already have the spell list window to cas...

Re: Finished Book 2 as a Mage (spoilers)

3. It's pretty clear that the Orakur's are Aliens from other planet, why is it so "secret" and leaves many questions after the game ? for me it's clear as the sun. BW has said numerous times that the actual truth about the Orakur is not so clear (with some pretty strong implications that ...

Re: How to use portal ?

Thanks, my problem was that I always used "quick spells" only and never actually used the "normal" way, so I didn't even noticed the button ;) Glad you sorted it out. I guess the mix of the kind of awkward way Portal works plus the fact that the Cast Spell button could look more...

Re: How to use portal ?

As I said: Select a spell level and cast it. Really, there's nothing more to it than that. But OK, here's a step by step (and final) guide: 1. Select level 1 of Portal and press the Cast Spell (or whatever) button in that window 2. Congrats, you have _created an anchor_ in the place you're now 3. Mo...

Re: How to use portal ?

I remember using that spell from the Spells window only, so you probably can't hotkey it. Just set an anchor and then hotkey the spell. Maybe that'll work. And, if you were able to use this spell inside dungeons you could break the game itself, as there's a lot of points where you're supposed to be ...

Re: How to use portal ?

Select a spell level and cast it. An invisible mark (an anchor) will be placed where you're standing at if you don't have a portal already assigned to that spell level. If you cast Portal at the same level again a popup will ask you either to simply open the portal (and automatically travel there) o...
