Re: Toadem Pollen
I was hoping it was used to make more of that special potion you give to the sick kid's mother. Ah well. You mean, "that special potion you fence for a cool 1,000 gold?" Hah! You know, I've thought about quaffing that loot more than once... It's like a quest where you choose your own rewa...

Dude - you took the words right out of my mouth. Good job.CrazyBernie wrote: You play the role of a person who has lost all memory of who he was. As you venture across the land in search of answers, memories begin to surface, and suddenly you have regained skills that you once possessed!

Re: New Challenge
That might be cool, but I gotta tell ya... the Unarmed Combat "Fury" feat is really kickin'. At the moment I'm playing a character with 20 ranks in the skill, and unarmed, unarmored, am righteously kicking butt. The only challenge I'm having is resisting the temptation to tweak out my char...

Re: Eschalon: Book II or Book I
I feel compelled to replay Book II more than Book I because of the challenges. It may not mean a whole lot overall, but meeting certain challenges that are recognized at the end of the game is a big deal to me.

Re: the grind is wearing me down
Having finished with my first successful playthrough, I decided to try something. Effectively a "Vow of Poverty" monk. I'm not going to use any weapons, armor, magical rings, amulets, etc. No equippables at all, except for perhaps thrown weapons. I tried KillingMoon's advice - at character...

DAMN! that's a lot of bodies you racked up. You must have camped like crazy. I sure did. Spent nearly a calendar year of ingame time. I was tempted to mess around some more to see if that dude in Everdale was actually going to open up his spa and let me relax in it. :) That, and I didn't allocate m...

Re: wand
Lol... that's awesome if you can "repair" the wand. I never even tried that. I just saved it for the end fight. In my experience, the wand is about as good as "Extreme Focus" with a good bow and arrow. Much like the weapon feat, it is an auto-hit.

Hah, you're all wrong! The smith secretly isn't a smith at all - he's a master elementalist! He set a teleport marker in that room before it was built, and sealed it off against our greedy selves.
At least... that's what *I* woulda done, if I was cool.

Re: Ruel treasure chests room
While I think it would be nice to be both a nudist and a scholar, I find that I can get 30k experience points, or however much it is, by camping out in Old Harpoon Bay for a while. I just get up to grab an ice cream sandwich or something, and when I come back, there's about, oh, 3200 xp or so, just ...

Re: The Orakur are WHAT?! (spoils)
As soon as I saw the dying Orakur's picture, I did think that he looked a lot like an alien gray, but it wasn't until he mentioned something about how their ship crashed here that it really drove the resemblance home. What I really appreciated about the game was that all through Book I and Book II, ...

Re: Ornamental Sword
Personally, I think it would be a lot simpler if the Constable would just turn into a massive Taurax, or a giant werewolf, and attack you with the sword, so that you could take it after you killed him. You know, as a level 1 character. Because, with enough kegs of blasting powder and a single stone ...

Re: Damage text
It'd be nice to have an option to turn this on and off, for sure. I like verbose details. :) Unfortunately, the "chat window" (is that the right term?) doesn't remember more than about 30 lines or so.... soo, *too* many details means that you won't be able to say, "Wait, what just hap...

Re: What's missing??
I could definitely go with more trainers, for sure. I definitely like the idea of training for the "secondary" skills... as it was mentioned, of COURSE I'm going to bump up my weaponry/magicky skills - that's a given! But somewhere in the back of my mind, I just wonder how many more hidden...
