Re: Book Zero

Dumbed down for crappy 3rd generation consoles. :x The Atari 2600 supports the full range of 121 different colors and directly accesses your TV's CRT; the NES/Famicom supports only 16 out of 52 colors in a meagre 256×224 resolution. This is ridiculous! Don't support this dumbed down crap! The NES ma...

Re: The Orakur are WHAT?! (spoils)

The Orakur are much closed to the Greys of UFO mythos than Vahnatai from Spiderweb Games. Whether these are from The X-Files as the direct inspiration, then maybe you are an imperfect clone. :) Uhm Might & Magic anyone? The Orakur may look like Vahnatai and look and feel like Greys, but the cru...

Re: Sold my salt.

Depends on whether you have the consistent results for random functions active or not. If they are turned off, go to any container you haven't opened yet, save and reload until you find salt, or wait for a merchant inventory respawn the tavern keeper in Eastwillow has low quality items like salt. Wi...

My nefarious rogue.

Cut from a larger NWN1-portrait.
Fits the style of the original ingame portraits quite fine, IMO.

Re: that maddening lever in the Aridell blacksmith's shop

Actually, that lever opens the trapdoor that leads down to the secret cellar. Down there you'll need a decent perception score to spot the small pond with the red herring. The scales of the red herring mixed with demon oil can be used as fuel for the chainsaw, which then can be used in Dr. Fred's ma...

Re: Lanterns!??

To use a lantern simply equip it instead of a shield.

To refill it use alchemy to combine lantern, cotton wick and oil

Hmm...

I don't think you can take that poll too serious...

At the moment:

1. HellGate:London
2. NWN2:MoTB
3. Eschalon
4. The Witcher

Either the RPGWatch audience has a very strange taste, or some script kiddies are having fun with this poll.

Not everyone wants to run applications in Wine, thomas - and Basilisk is doing something very worthy and important here, by supporting Linux as a platform for their games as well as Windows and Macs. I concur. I'm a Windows-user for two reasons only: 1. I play computer games, that's at least 75% of...

So, to sum up: A high-level language that works for all major OS is being used to produce a game that is graphically as simple as Diablo 1 and the Baldur's Gate games were some 8 or 9 years ago No it isn't as simple, it has lighting it has particle effects, technically it's about 2 years old. It's ...

Germany here, got my CD whole and intact last week just in time for my birthday, thank you for this nice present BW. :D The CD version is quite worth it and adds to the very professional appeal of the whole game. Besides the lack of beautiful photorealistic graphics combined with shallow gameplay, t...

I find it confusing that every time someone says the walking speed is slow, the first response is to check the performance rating. Let's face it: even with a low (good) rating, the walking speed is slow. Performance 2-3 with Directx here and the walking speed is just fine. It shouldn't be much fast...

I believe you wouldn't hold a one handed sword in your hand either it'd be kept inside a sword holder at your waist, I meant marching trough hostile territory, prepared to fight but unsure whether and where the battle will begin, or changing positions during a battle. I.e. in stress situations wher...

To do it right you'd actually shoulder a claymore or greataxe or strap it on your back while walking, a quarterstaff would be used as a walking cane a longsword would be either held across the chest or like a two handed sword. Finally a shortsword and most daggers would be held with the point toward...
