Re: The King is back !

I don't understand the problem with Steam. It's light, unobtrusive, and is a great way to ensure being able to have your games for many years even if you lose your discs. Personally, I go out of my way to buy games off of Steam to the exclusion of all other venues. I am even willing to pay more to g...

Re: The Age of Decadence

This looks like a very interesting game and I'll definitely give it a shot when it comes out. However that Vince guy comes off really badly in that interview. Very full of himself and confrontational. From what I hear he argues with people quite a bit in the forums. Not really the guy you want as a ...

I've noticed this too, and I assumed it was due to the isometric camera, but who knows?

Re: i regret my steam buy....

I found out about Eschalon through Steam.

And I regret my Steam purchase as well. I wish I would've done it direct to give Basilisk Games some more money!

Will be purchasing Book I direct, though! :)

Re: Single save on 2 computers?

Thanks for the heads up. This is the kinda stuff I need to know! I've used mac's before educationally, but this is the first one that is *mine* so there's a lot of quirks and odd stuff that I need to learn. You would not believe the time I had getting Ruby, Rails, MySQL, and a Webserver installed! :...

Re: Single save on 2 computers?

Good to know the saves are cross platform!

Just picked up a Macbook Pro and I am looking forward to playing Book II on both it and my main desktop PC.

Re: server down whirr whirr . . . RELIABLE HOSTS

In case anyone else is interested in such things, I highly recommend http://www.dreamhost.com.

I've had an amazing experience with them and their customer service, and haven't noticed any downtime since I've signed up with them.

Re: Which Book II ad works best?

I definitely like Ad #3 the best, with #2 in second place (I voted for 2, but would've voted for 3 if I saw it before I voted! :P). The in-game graphics are key. The graphics remind me of Ultima Online or something similar and I know the game is something I would be interested in right away. I like ...

Re: Baldur's Gate?

I'd recommend looking up Baldur's Gate Trilogy (http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ie/bgt). It allows you to play through Baldur's Gate I, Tales of the Sword Coast, and Baldur's Gate II Shadows of Amn all as one game using the Baldur's Gate II engine. It's really very good and seamless. And being able ...

Re: Character hacking...how important is it?

I think that you should allow character hacking because it's just not worth your time to try and prevent it unless you're going to have online leaderboards or something like that. Maybe there's a way to allow character hacking but to flag the savefile that the character has been altered (of course i...
