Re: October/November Update

I managed to wait 36 years to play Book 1 so I'm feeling confident that I'll make it through another couple months for Book II. No lollygagging though! I'm not getting any younger!

What is it that authors of cracks get out of doing it? In most cases it isn't money, so that leaves a sense of accomplishment for being able to do it and/or recognition for doing it. How do they get recognition? Knowing people are downloading their crack is certainly one way. If no one ever downloa...

Anyone here ever lived in an Asian country? I lived in Thailand for 2 years. I could take a 10 minute bus ride to a computer mall. The entire top floor was dedicated to small vendors selling pirated games. The normal stores didn't even sell software. The ONLY way to get games was to buy pirated soft...

A week ago I was driving to work. It was a typical morning. I was still half asleep dreaming of my morning coffee. All of a sudden, BAM! Something bounced off the hood of my car and cracked the windshield. Wide awake, I pulled off the side of the road and looked for what had hit my car. What I found...

- Prostitution. Like since there's a war going on, people fled their home and suffer from no economy income especially for woman which force them to do the oldest occupation in the world. Maybe add a quest that allows you to beat the pimp and rescue the hookers or be the next pimp for a stable inco...

I had some (not so new) ideas about how to improve melee. Bludeoning - Have a percent chance to stun Swords - Cause bleeding damage Cleaving - Dunno about this one Short Weapons - More critical hits Its also pretty common these days to have melee skills that are a lot like spells. Things like charge...

quasius, get in with a good forum that has gamers of a like mind with you. I found out about this game on the Octopus Overlords site along with just about every other game that I have enjoyed for the last year. I heard about Eschalon there and bought it within days of its release. There are a ton of...

The biggest one for me is definitely Ultima Underworld. Not only did it have the most advanced 3D engine at the time, but it had a feature set that has ever been matched. - 3d engine with angled walls and floors, lighting, and allowed full 3D motion like flying. - NPC reputation with multiple factio...

Since the game is being marketed as a trilogy, I'd stay away from any drastic changes. At least until the trilogy is over. The current engine is really fantastic. There are so many interesting things that can be added that I don't see any reason to scrap it this early in the trilogy.

I finished around 25 hours. There were two quests that were not finished, two easter eggs that I didn't find, and the riddle in Tangletree Osssuary was only 75% complete. I probably spent another 5 hours messing around with other characters. So 30 hours for a $30 game. Not bad! I'm glad I didn't buy...

Speaking of promoting it.... Has James Allen from Out of Eight gotten a copy yet? He reviews indie titles and his reviews are always linked on Blues News.

Please don't make it party based! That will completely utterly 100% demolish any sense of immersion that I get from the game. Not to mention that it would be a technical hurdle that would be time consuming after all the bits are figured out. Also, don't waste time on multiplayer. 99% of us are going...

The walk speed is most folks biggest complaint. For me it was only an issue when backtracking. You do get fast travel locations so you rarely have to travel long distances by foot.

No sound issues here. In fact the sound quality was one of the game's strongest points.
