Any chance the NPCs will try to lock you up/confiscate stolen property/make you pay fines instead of just trying to maim and kill you in Book II?

Ok, but I'd like to see how well you fair with a bow and some arrows hitting a stationary target. Assuming you have no archery skill, I'd be willing to bet your first attempts will be off the mark... by a lot. Same holds true for darts. My first time throwing in a pub I hit the backboard more often ...

I think it was fixed in the very first patch. There's no reason not to patch, by the way, since they don't really change any content, just balance out some gameplay and fix bugs (like the one you described).

I found that, especially later in the game, equipment is far more important than stats and skills. Everything is +3 except the shield, the rest is the best heavy armor I could find in the game and the sword is from Lilith's chest. Anyway, here's the stats: http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z61/crap...

I concur. The same should hold true for archery/thrown weapons launched at stationary targets. With no skill you have a guaranteed chance to hit barrels and switches which doesn't make much sense at all.

If time lost to resting had any impact on the game (and I for one could see where it might have mattered) I would say that the divine healing is overpowered because of the rapidity with which mana restores compared to HPs. On the other hand, the heal itself is useless in endgame combats for most fig...

The other oddity with that fight is that you can walk right into his bedroom and loot his drawer and he doesn't bat an eye at all. At least if you try to bash/lockpick the treasure room he goes hostile.

Thomas has said that after the bugs and such are sorted out, content patches may be a possibility.

About 29 hours. This was inclusive of all the quests I could find and exploring almost all of the maps. It was a restart from my initial mage character, however, who had seen everything up to the Goblin Citadel/Most of Carakamir so I did skip through a lot of the conversations and notes.

If I'm not mistaken you're talking about the portcullises that slam down on you unless you flip switches near them, right?

Spoilers:

The first switch is right near the first door, the second is just beyond the second door but within range of any kind of archery, thrown weapons, or spells

Yeah Tung is absolutely right. The percentages really seem to be entirely meaningless. I presume this is meant to up the difficulty a bit, or that there are hidden modifiers that change the displayed ToHit.

No, you don't need magic but you will need ranged attacks of some kind to complete the game as well as some side quests. You don't need to be accurate, since I think when hitting stationary objects it doesn't require a to Hit roll. You'll probably want to pick up magic at the cursory level anyway th...

You need a specific key to open that gate, I think it's called an Odd Key or Flat Key or some such thing and it's a grayish hue.

Without that key you cannot exit through the eastern gates, unfortunately. There are other means of passage to and from Carakmir, however.
