Re: Speedrun

For a turn-based game I think it makes more sense to score a run in turns rather than in time. I don't suppose the game tracks how many turns have elapsed? Sorry to resurrect a kind of dead post. But I haven't been on in a while apparently. Anyway, I feel like the game does keep track of that, does...

Minimalist Character?

I don't know if any of you have played an old side-scroller (kind of, anyway. Not really sure how to classify it) called Cave Story. I think it's a wonderful game. Anyway, throughout the game your character gets more health by picking up "health capsules," which are finite in number. So of...

Re: Eschalon Nostalgia

Ah man. This is a good subject - thanks for bringing it up Leezar. I frequently find myself humming or whistling Eschalon music, and it always brings back strong emotions. I end up using it as ambient music for DnD campaigns quite a bit as well. The harp music especially makes me remember such wonde...

Re: Divination Expert

I'm ashamed that it's been so long since you made this post and I hadn't seen it yet. But, maybe the problem is that I was too used to camping in the first place, hahaha.

I find myself checking about once a month or so, just praying that there's some lovely discussion that will spark some nostalgia. We're still rooting for you BW!

Re: Divination Expert

In Book II I did all three of the above, haha. I ended up getting Elemental for Lock Melt, and a carried around the dagger that I started with just... 'cause? By even mid game it was pretty useless.

I think that it would have been possible with a pure, but I wanted the loot too badly.

Re: Divination Expert

I think that's one of the beauties of these games - Basilisk Games (i.e. Basilisk Wrangler) has created something that we can feel homesick for. Something that to me, feels like a classic, something I want to revisit every now and then. I think that a vast majority of recent games do not have that q...

Divination Expert

Well. After being away from two years, it only felt right to play through the Eschalon series again with something I hadn't done before. I chose a Divination expert, though I found pick locks was critical without Lock Melt or Unarmed Combat. Honestly, this has been one of my favorite playthroughs - ...

I'm back!

Hey everyone! I thought I made a post like two years ago saying: hey, I'm leaving for two years. But I couldn't find it if I did. Either way, I just returned home after serving a volunteer mission for my church in New England. Decided I'd check out Basilisk Games and see what the latest sauce was - ...

Re: The Next Game

At this point id buy a game from BG even if it stated i was just going to watch paint dry. Yeah, I think I might as well. For what it's worth, I've used Unity and Unreal4, and while I personally found Unreal4 produced a more desirable result, Unity was much easier to work with. I also much prefer E...

Re: Need help with a coding Project

I had considered it, but ultimately ruled it out because I did not know the extend of its abilities. Thanks for the advice though, it sounds like this option is much more viable than I thought. I will certainly try that out.

Need help with a coding Project

Do you have copious amounts of free time? I'm sure you do - who doesn't? Here's the deal. I don't actually like any other forums because I find that I make an account, make 1-2 posts, follow it until I have my answer, and then forget about it entirely. This forum is literally always open on my right...

Re: Prismatic Maelstrom Banned

I had hoped that it wouldn't come to this - when I first joined the forums 4 years ago he was super helpful and had genuinely intriguing comments (amid several small pranks). He just slowly got less and less tolerable, to the point that I too felt I wasn't gaining anything from these forums. I had h...
