Re: Baldur's Gate returns?

Just to take a bit away from the excitement, here is a bunch of updates. I was assured by Trent himself that the youtube video was not posted by him or anyone associated with Beamdog. He also decided to to tone things down a bit in one of his latest tweets . I am more and more convinced that this ne...

Baldur's Gate returns?

Is it possible? Well, just have a look what recently appeared on the net: CLICK . According to GameBanshee , this site belongs to Beamdog, a company owned by a former BioWare designer Trent Oster. When I found out I immediatelly rushed to the Beamdog forums, just to find this post by a user Trent0 s...

Re: Amalur

I played the demo as well, and it convinced me not to buy the full version. The RPG elements, i.e. customisation and character development/skill trees are decent (with the latter similar to Diablo 2), but the combat...ugh...I'll just say I'm not a big fan of Mortal Kombat series. The characters in t...

Re: Why won't dodge do what it says?

Dodge is severely underpowered at low levels and game-breaking at high levels. You're right here. It should be capped at around 25%. In my playthrough I'm keeping it at 16 plus to Wind Rings and wasn't planning to improve it by more than 5 points because I feared that would ruin balance. But combin...

Re: Automapping feature instead of requiring Cartography ski

Except that Eschalon isn't for X-Box And that's one of the main reasons it's so good. Anyway, I didn't mean to condemn you for asking BW to make the game easier. I understand where you're coming from. After all, developers of modern RPGs go to great extends to make them as easy as possible to appea...

DRAGONS!!! Or at least one :)

And a bit more casting enemies, e.g. Liches, to make things more difficult for melee classes.

Re: Why won't dodge do what it says?

I've requested that in Book III the Dodge and Armor skills both contribute to your defense the same way wearing armor and having high Dexterity do in Books I and II. Whre did you request that? I need to counter it...It's perfectly fine the way it is. A little brain activity while playing games isn'...

Re: Automapping feature instead of requiring Cartography ski

I agree with severian. I like Eschalon because it has no auto-map, no quest indicators, because you have to eat, drink, sleep and above all THINK, to finish the game. Give people auto-maps, and next they'll want auto-level, auto-equip the best gear, auto-destroy everything, auto-do all that stuff th...

Re: Why won't dodge do what it says?

Dodge does not affect the To Hit value. It's makes a separate calculation regardless of your opponent's chance to hit you. An example: a wolf has 90% To Hit you; you fight; the wolf rolls and gets a hit; however it doesn't mean it will hit you beacause now your Dodge skill does it's share and you st...
