Re: The State of the Basilisk 2018: A Year in Review

2D and 2D isometric is way better IMO than any truly 3D game. For example you already lose a lot of player focus with a freely rotatable 3D camera. Then you have to worry your world looks good from all angles and you the developer cannot concentrate 100% on the gameplay, but you are forced to focus ...

Re: Pillars of Eternity II swipe from Eschalon ;-)

Hmm, yes those exploding barrels are cutting edge, Obsidian. You need to give a raise to whomever came up with that one. There's a lot of new role-playing concepts in our upcoming SciFi RPG that Obsidian may be interested in swiping. When these bunch of thieves came out with Tyranny I...

I remembered, just hoped they didn't decide to do a 3D game with strict top-down or platformer camera angles.

Re: Pillars of Eternity II swipe from Eschalon ;-)

Well darn - I love isometric, but that's just a personal preference. Is it turn-based? Absolutely. It feels a lot like Eschalon, but in a new perspective. I think you'll like it. I hope you meant to say not exactly isometric , but still somewhat close to Fallout 1-2's or Eschalon's camera an...

Re: What features would you like in a Sci-Fi RPG?

I want + gory fantastic turn based battles + Couple of spooky, isolated maps & missions like the movie Alien + And also some sprawling action space opera like missions and a couple cities like Star Wars, but with moderation! + science "almost magical" science that has no basis in reali...

Anyone try this one yet.?.It's advertised as old school. http://www.underrail.com/ It's for sale but in Alpha though. Absolutely 'best fantastic RPG' in the style of Fallout 1-2. Superb freedom to go where ever you want except many caved in areas - rock - that can be removed by building TNT-bombs l...

Re: Lords of Xulima

I believed the game was 3D, until about 25 hours in trying out the sixth party. :) This game is amazing, the best indie probably. Music is awesome. Animations and graphics resolution are so detailed, I thought it was 3D characters rendered over 2D terrain, but no! :D Large world, countless adventure...
