Re: Book III Character and Map Editor

neither of editors work for me. perhaps it`s some of Win 7 64 bit libraries Um...yeah, same....worked brilliantly for Book 2; saved me from a massive boner with the Borehead quest...but this time? No go. :( When I open a 'slotxx', it just immediately disappears/shuts down. Weird. No warning or erro...

@xolotl!

Wow. I'm really a bit of an arse, aren't I? I was so thrilled to be able to progress in Book II, I'd forgotten, in my excitement, to thank the author of the editor; xolotl !! I'd amended my previous post to thank SpottedShroom (thank you so much , yet again!), but had failed to mention the other exc...

@SpottedShroom!

SpottedShroom; thank you, I will try this. I was just about to attempt one last time, except this time resetting Port Kuudad as well....I reeeeally don't want to do that! I've got stuff stashed everywhere....it's a large city....well, you get the idea. I know you copy/save your folders first, but st...

Please tell me there is a way to reset quests!?!?

No, not maps ; quests. Or, more specifically, a quest. The Exterminator, to be precise. I think I effed up, because I generally play non-linear...uh...ly? I had already killed all of the Boreheads before even getting to Port Kuudad for the Magis' quest....but he told me the acolyte had just arrived,...

Re: Um.....really?

Funnily enough, it seems this 'msmsgs.exe' disaster may have come from a recent Java update. The only other place could be Windows Live, from Microsofts' own site. I've read online that there was, indeed, a virus cloaked in a Java update....*sigh*....it was hidden as a 'toolbar', which I never, eve...

Re: Um.....really?

Thanks for the suggestions. :) Iobit ASC has it's own malware, spybot, defrag, registry cleaner, etc. etc. etc. as onboard 'tools'...it's actually pretty sweet. I keep changing anti-virus programs after they let something infect my rig. I've used Avira, Norton, McAffee, AVG (used to love the free v...

Re: Corrupt saves, corrupt maps, game crashes....

Hiya; I have been deleting all three map files...it just resets the map...doesn't re-trigger the Brudo conversation (even after talking to Minus again about him/the password) that gets me into the lower dam. Just can't get past that damned porticullis!! Anyway; I've been scanning my boot/hard disks...

Re: Um.....really?

Have you run any maintenance programs on your computer? Sounds like you could have a virus, or you could have a drive that is having problems. I strongly suggest you do everything you can to check your machine. Yup; been doing exactly that all night. *yawn* :wink: Something called 'msmsgs', I think...

Corrupt saves, corrupt maps, game crashes....

I've already posted in a couple other peoples' threads, but this is hoping a dev sees it... Steam versions. I will see if there are similar problems on the boards there; I wonder if the constant updates have something to do with the corruption of all my files! Disappearing maps, disappearing save f...

Re: Westwillow Dungeon Access Disappears?

Have had a similar problem; same beginning, where I triggered, got in, retreated when skeletons were too strong for me. Even though the door to the dam is open, it just crashes/shuts down my game instantly when I try to enter from Greenriven Lake map. I've done this at least half a dozen times now....

Re: Um.....really?

GOOD LUCK!!!! Thank you! I actually needed that! Save the game in a few slots. Then exit the game and delete the Everdale maps in only one of the saves. Restart the game and see if that fixes the problem. Your suggestion did work, Randomizer....thank you for that, and to the link that gave me the n...

You just have good taste in games after reading some of the games you play *blushes* Why, thank you very much. Clearly you're a fellow gamer of discerning taste yourself. :wink: I know, I'm twice your age plus a few more and that's what happened to me! :o Really? Isn't that you in your avatar....? ...
