Thanks for the updates! Really glad to hear the game is coming along nicely.
I have this bad habit of forgetting about Eschalon for months at a time, but I was reminded about it today and went here and found this thread. Can't wait for that game editor!
Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Re: Automapping feature instead of requiring Cartography ski
Weird request. I always thought the cartographer's skill was one of the most interesting skills of the game. Very cleverly made and I always wonder why no other games have thought of that. One concession I would be willing to make is to make the first level of cartography free for all. It would not ...

Re: What do you like best about Book II?
Why do you make these threads into polls and then fail to add relevant poll options? Ok, if there had been an "other" option, I would have chosen that. I still like the Cartography skill the best! It's such a clever skill that really resonates well with me as an explorer type of player. Th...

Re: What's missing??
I miss clear character development paths for the various character classes there is. For example, I wanted to build an assassin out of my rogue, but in reality it just didn't work. Also, I am missing complete sets of equipment for the various character classes! Not only should there be equipment for...

Re: cat's eyes
It was a spider. It is supposed to suffer darkness penalty, but it didn't. I can check it once more. BTW, hide in shadow also works worse with this spell. So, I concluded it works more like magic flame but not as one's capability. If compare with "Predator's sight" the latter is much bett...

I have NO idea how you guys killed so many enemies! I killed everyone I could find (and squeezed a few extra out of the nests) and I still couldn't meet 700!

So uh.. I'm guessing you didn't check out this little island then. I circled a chest that I've been dying to find out what's inside :D http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a4/mkreku/eb2_screen3.jpg (sorry for the quality, jpg compression blurred the picture, but it's in the Southern Kessian Basin) I'm g...

Re: Feedback on Book II so far
I tried to build a rogue and pumped all my attribute points into strength, dexterity and speed. I have no idea what speed does, but so far it seems pretty useless. Strength is good.. for carrying stuff.. I guess.. Dexterity is supposed to give me both better ToHit and Armour Rating, but.. For some r...

Re: port kuudad sewer [spoiler]
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!! WARNING!! . . . . . . Well, I managed to solve that chest puzzle and fought my way to the very end of the Thieves' Arcadia. But that's where a big dilemma showed itself to me. You see, I chose to roll a rogue at the beginning of the game, and I haven't been able to find any tr...

Re: How bout anoher update or screenshot
But while working on some additional map details today, I pondered: "will players actually find all of these secret areas?" The best games I've ever played are the Gothic games. These are games that are brimful with secrets. What's so great about that is that you're able to go back to the...

Re: Book II Questions Thread
Yeah, being from Sweden I really don't like Steam at all. I was going to buy Borderlands the other day and thought it would be cool to get it from Steam. Turned out that the game cost 49.95€ ($74) on there! Talked to one of my American friends and he could get it for $49.95. Apparently in Steam's bi...

Re: Short Blade advantage?
Daggers, knives and spears are used in a stabbing fashion. The pick is swung like a hammer. Yes, the damage it does resembles the spear (not so much the dagger or knives), but for me, personally, it would feel more at home among the hammers, clubs and maces.

Re: Ultima IV!
Wow. I played Ultima IV for hundreds of hours when I was younger (and they were new games ) but I never finished a single Ultima game! I never understood this virtue thingie and I could never understand why the game wouldn't let me in at the end.
