Re: Ubuntu 8.10 with Intel graphics game doesn't start...

I can confirm, Book I now works for me with Ubuntu 9.04 and the Intel GPU.

Re: Some more on Translation

Well, I for one am a professional translator and, much like RezoApio, would be delighted to work on a translation, so you can count me in. As for whether this makes any sense -- just like Basilisk said, it comes at little extra cost to BG (unless keeping all text strings in external files proves to ...

Eschalon on Greenhouse

Congratulations on the Greenhouse launch -- I just bought another copy of Eschalon there :)
Overall, it looks like a very promising platform for multiplatform indie games.

Re: News Update - July 7, 2008 - RPGWatch Interview

I like the sound of a ranking system very much. One of the best games that did that was the original pirates. I played that game a million times trying to retire with a higher ranking. I hope it's a title ranking though, I like those better...or maybe points and title ranking would be best. Heh, so...

Re: News Update - July 7, 2008 - RPGWatch Interview

Very interesting interview.
Now I'm really interested in what changes there would be to the combat system. It is arguably the thing that most people wanted to see improved or altered, and, seeing as the other improvements/extra features look great... :)

Re: Bought the game, but it crashes ...

I'm not sure if this will be of any help, but just in case. I was having a very similar problem when I bought the game. Crashes in certain areas that took the whole system down. After a lot of research and consulting the ever helpful BW and linux guys here in the support forum, I found out it was my...

Re: Book II design question

I have no objections at all to either pre-rolling on entering a particular area in game or the one minute rule, however, I don't really find it all that important. I don't use the the save/load method for better rolls or loot as it'd ruin immersion for me, but if for someone that happens to be the m...

You're not alone, krisklef, I honestly can't remember the last time I was so excited about an upcoming game. Well, I guess Dungeon Master II comes close. :)

Re: Speed up development of Book II via prepay option?

I'd still like to have the prepay option -- not to speed up the development or hire people for more content, but rather to simply express my support for what Thomas is doing.

Re: Book II Announcement?

First of all: yay! :) The screenshots look just great. I posted the news at a couple of linux-oriented websites. Also: Thomas, you should give some thought to that pre-order link idea. I believe quite a few of us would love to be able to contribute to Book II development that way. Maybe even a colle...

It sounds to me like the game data might be damaged on your drive, namely the maps that libpng is trying to read. You might want to try and re-extract the game archive (or re-download it, I was able to download my copy twice, not sure whether it's not actually time-limited, though).

Creative Labs announced closed-source ALSA-compatible X-Fi drivers (with EAX support) sometime back in April 2007, they might have even released a beta already, so the drivers are likely "coming soon". We can only hope that hardware vendor support improves over time, just like acoustibop s...

Whoops, sorry, the Radeon 9000 series is supported by fglrx, while Mobility Radeon 9000 is not. I wonder whether the game wouldn't be a bit too slow on that GPU even if you got it running... :?
