Re: Welcome to the new forums

Made it to the new forums. The place looks nice. Who's buying the first round at this new pub?

If you have a swimming skill, I think it should affect your encumbrance level, probably quite radically, i.e. if you're carrying too much, you'll sink! Then you'd probably need the ability to bag up your own stuff (like the little white bags humanoids drop occasionally), so you can put things down ...

If not boats, then certainly some form of levitation spell/potion would be good. It annoyed the [bleep] out of me in Book I that the Goblin Archers on that platform in Vela would drop stuff, and I couldn't get it. :) With levitation, you could get it, but you'd have to be careful, as you can only st...

I thought, if it was infrared, then the undead creatures should be blue (cooler than the surrounding room, as they're absorbing energy to be animate) while living creatures should be red. The way the spell/potion works now, all the creatures look like a night-vision goggle effect. Also, if it's Pred...

Eldermist,

Since the saved game files are stored in your Documents folder, when you open the full game, you can immediately load your latest saved game from the demo. That's what I did.

I posted a slightly different take on this here: http://www.basiliskgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=11331#11331 However, I think that you're right that Survival skill should offer a second (or is it third?) method of curing disease. Just like in the current game you can pick a lock if you have the ...

I killed EVERYTHING. In reference to the earlier comment about timing Darkford, as long as you don't mind waiting for the experience from passing on the note, you can enter and exit at will, and you never really HAVE to go to Darkford to finish the game. Once you're at a point where you can set up a...

Trap I can't remove--slight SPOILER

Okay, I've gone through the game a bunch of times (I know, addict). I was wondering if anybody else has had trouble with the chest in the Goblin Citadel that the nice goblin in the Whistling Caves tells you about. When I get to it, I spot the trap, attempt to disarm it, but the game never runs the d...

For sure haste and lever action are the most over powered device in game. Haste is very good indeed, but it often seems to run out at the most inconvenient times. As for the levers dropping portcullises, it's powerful, but you lose out on a lot of experience if you do it too much (though using it o...

Oddly enough, last night I discovered that while 3 may be the top for players, it's not the top in the game. I've been wiping out all life in Eschalon, and going through Gramuk's chests, I picked up an Adamantine Great Sword +4. I prefer axes, but...very pretty. http://janetberliner.fatcow.com/escha...

Re: Changes i need

2. Own Notes on the map. Larger Map, maybe extra popup window. This sounds good to me, also. Some form of Player's Journal that can be linked to places on the map would be helpful (though I wasn't too lazy to make notes on a physical pad). 3. Chests and bags in my inventory in order to store more t...

The problem would probably be that I didn't realize I had to reregister for that board, and made the assumption it was the space that was a problem (as most user names don't appear to have one). Safari autofilled the User Name and Password from this board, and I was shocked when it wouldn't let me i...
