Hey... thanks for posting this, Sslaxx . . . I have a feeling I'll be looking into this site a lot, from now on.

Re: Cartography - get rid of it

What I'd find really entertaining would be if the basic map looked horrible... lines weren't drawn straight, details would be missing ,etc. As you added points into the skill, not only would color/detail be added, but the lines would start to straighten out and look more accurate. An expandable map...

Re: Lost contact with Northland...

Hmm... well, I found the demo, at any rate, played it... not as good as it looked, but it's still okay. Bernie: You know, I've never even used Google Shopping before... for some reason my eye always misses it. Hmm... . Makes things easier. Anyhow, thanks, guys. If I do end up getting it... $10 from ...

Re: Awesome joke!

I've always wanted to know how long a 10-hour game is. ...Or what that even means. Anyhow... it seems to me this has nothing to do with what 'gamers' supposedly "want" but everything to do with what the big game companies want... more profit more quickly and for less effort. That's how it's always b...

Re: The Movie Directors Thread

A few days ago I saw Mike Leigh's film Happy-Go-Lucky . Like a lot of Mike Leigh's films, it's really good. Great characters, excellent acting, directing and writing, no Hollywood-esque crap like morals or 'teachable moments' or whatever. (He's British, in case anyone's wondering.) Mike Leigh is gre...

Lost contact with Northland...

So... trying to find out how to get a hold of the game Northland , from Tri Synergy, it looks pretty good, but it's out of print, which seems kind of odd since it looks like a relatively new game -- 2008 I think? -- and Tri Synergy is still in business. If I were crazy I could get it from Amazon new...

Re: In need of an artist!

...Nobody ever says they're looking for a writer.

Anyhow... I can draw & paint but I'm no good with computer graphics... I just don't have the patience. So I'm totally useless, here. Still looking forward to the demo, though, Vroqren!

Re: Avernum rewrite

Ugh. Yeah, I saw that a few days ago. Well, maybe I'll pick it up... going back into a game I found unplayable although narratively interesting, with an interface that's playable, does sound like it might be more fun that Avadon looked. Well, I'm sure when the demo comes out I'll be able to decide i...

Zork: Grand Inquisitor

I just bought this the other day because GOG was having a sale on their Zork titles and thought this one looked pretty good. Man... I like it, it's a fun game, amusing... . I've only just started playing it, so I'll see as time goes on. "...Violators of the Curfew will be incarcerated, lacerated and...

games for tweens

Okay, so... yes, it's a little early, but I was wondering -- because my father was asking me for advice for my niece's birthday gift and after he ordered I managed to convince him to leave Syberia I & II behind and that I'd pay him for it and hold on to it for her Xmas gift because because 1. he was...

To take a slightly different turn: I've never been able to help thinking that if I were a filmmaker I'd want to make a film out of Geneforge 3.

Here're some sim games I do NOT want to see:

Moving Day
Apartment Search
Deal with the Neighbors
Landlord vs. Tenant : The Final Battle

Re: The Witcher II

I hope BW doesn't mind me posting this link, but you have to sign in to watch it and anyhow it only features footage of the actual game (though censored)... because it contains 'adult' references... whatever... if BW doesn't want it here I won't be offended of he deletes this, but otherwise... I fel...
