[CONFIRMED] In some situations Ulgolek can un-recover after you restore him
http://www.basiliskgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=8930
I'd been digging into fixing some bugs in the editor related to the "big" graphics (like Ulgolek) and stumbled across a fix for this, btw. Right now, hidden on ...

Re: Book III Character / Map Editor v1.0.0 (April 2, 2014)
Eventually, probably, yeah, once the game engine itself supports modding the appropriate files. It's probably a ways off at this point, but we'll see.Gwendo wrote:Will this editor suppor NPC and dialogue creation?

Re: Resources
I'm guessing that the game would load the original areas from datapak first, then if a modded original existed in the Mod directory it would overwrite that it.
Yeah, something like that will come. We've got a private forum where we've been talking to BW about how the mod support will look, etc ...

Re: Book III Mod: Expedition into West Mirkland
SpottedShroom and xolotl: can you guys fix my 4953.map and the editor? Apparently the editor isn't cleaning up everything related to the large graphics when I delete the large graphic objects... and I can't fix it with the editor because I can't see the ships anymore. As I said, there should only ...

Re: Official map editor question
Although actually, since the editor is being elevated to "officially endorsed" status, I suppose there's probably no reason why we couldn't actually distribute graphic assets in the editor itself, once the game engine becomes capable of taking advantage of that. I'll be sure to bring that up with BW ...

Re: Official map editor question
Since it reads from the datapak, shouldn't we be able to open the original maps?
Yeah - I actually just responded in the other thread, but to summarize here: a future version of the editor (probably 1.1.0) will probably let you load a map from the datapak. At the moment there's nothing actually ...

Re: Resources
xolotl's editor has official approval to decrypt the datapak in order to display graphics from the game, but as far as I know no one else does.
In preparation for future modding support, btw, I am planning on adding a feature to the editing tools which will let you open a "global" map file ...

Re: Are saves in version 1.0 compatible with version 1.02 ?
One thing to keep in mind for mid-game upgrades: if you've already visited a map which contains some bugfixes, then your game will not include those bugfixes. For instance, the 1.021 release makes various changes to the "Omentor Temple" map. If you've already visited Omentor using 1.00, that ...

Re: Official map editor question
The "officially endorsed" editor is going to be "my" editor, yeah, and as support for more modding is added to Book III, the editor will be extended to support those things too. So we'll see what happens with all that.
In terms of game assets, we'll see how that goes. Right now the editor doesn't ...

Mercantile - Is it worth paying a trainer?
In Books 2 and 3, I've often wondered if it actually makes financial sense, in the game, to pay for Mercantile training. The gains you get are difficult to notice on an item-by-item basis, and I'd always just sort of hoped that it was working out while I shelled over my cash.

From the stats screen (available via "z"), you can actually click on the names of each of the challenges to find out their criteria.luther wrote:So my question is, what are the criteria for the bonus in each class?

Re: Map and Char editors v1.0
One more thing which might help here, btw... If you right-click anything in the chooser dialog, you'll see an "Add to Bookmarks" option. If you click that, it'll add the directory/file/whatever as a permanent link over in the lefthand pane (where you see Search, Recently Used, C:, etc). That way you ...

Re: Map and Char editors v1.0
"Load from Savegames" is there and opens to the correct directory and shows the slots. It does not, however show an additional directory I have in there for storage.
Hm, what's your other directory called? Right now that dialog does look for directories named "slot*", but I suppose there's ...
