Re: Baldur's Gate

I enjoyed it up until I got tired of trying to manuever, I think it was 6 characters, around some of those narrow twisting underground areas. It got tedious moving each character until you got to a room full of monsters and discovered that you had the wrong ones in front and the others could do not...

Re: Game Editor

Thanks for the links SpottedShroom !
There are some great things, but some of the things I was searching for are missing. I hope we can meddle with more things with the editor when it's out.

Well, some personnalities like Rob Stark don't shine much, even in the books :D

Game Editor

So, I remember reading that around the same time you release EBIII, you should release a game editor, to see what awesome stories and stuff we can make with it :D I have a few questions about the engine, and how much we can twaek it. Things I'm most interested with, can we put triggers based on the ...

Re: Why I haven't bought Eschalon

I also find out later that I gimped my swordsman because I took sword skill ranks in the early game. The game should not be challenging because of poor informatics and skill system design. Well, trying to reach the trainer without any points in sword would be a huge pain. And don't worry, even if p...

Re: Virtues or Druidic?

Only some monstres can curse you (specters for example).

You have very few chances of getting cursed, but if that happens... it's really a pain.

If you are a close combat fighter, Nefarious is really good.

Re: Levelling a mage - What the #@!&$?!?!

For me, a sign that an RPG is going to be good is how often I want/need to restart to make a better character. With a good RPG, I'll restart 3-4 times before committing to my character(s). I never finished BookI, and it took me about a dozen characters (some which I didn't play for more than a few ...

Re: Dragon Quest IX

Maybe you should have bought a 3DS instead. My girlfriend liked the game, I didn't play it yet (too much to do or play), but she said it was nice, but somewhat too common. To those who didn't like jRPG, you might want to try the Golden Sun games. Scenario is nice, nothing spectacular but the world i...

Have you tried with other games ?

1. It's still random. I didn't get the same results you do O_o 2. Indeed. It frustrates me too. 3. I'd like that too 4. I found it weird that you couldn't forage for food and water sometimes. 6. First ranger known is Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. Remember his bow ? Neither do I (but I remember his...

Re: Game development skills?

You may need all of the abose (save SQL I believe), or none of the above, it depends. You could even write a game in Ook! or brainfuck if you got a mind to it (good luck). Still, C++ is probably the most popular language for game developpement (FORTRAN should give slightly better peformances). As fo...

Re: King's Bounty

Very fun story, but somewhat too much combat to my taste.

Only played a Paladin so far. Try getting a wife quickly, and have kids, they bring interesting bonus. Spells (non-damage) are very usefull, you can stack some scrolls to compensate for lack off mana.

Other than that... I don't know.

Re: Dragon Knight Saga

Same world, some decades later (but Zandalor is still there, alive and kicking), most non-human are gone. Aleroth got big.

It's 3D, story and quests are as fun as in Divine Divinity.
The demo should give you a nice insight for the game (even if you won't get to transform in a dragon in it).
