Re: Eschalon Engine Games

I totally understand that the isometric look is where our roots are at. I have already been looking at a possible return to isometric after TRC, playing around with engine ideas in my spare time. Working with Unity now has made me realize what an incredible isometric engine could be made inside it, ...

Re: Testing - TRC?

Who is providing the music for TRC? The music for Eschalon was wonderful, and I know you really care about how that ambience affects the game. Any hope of "Glorian" providing some tracks? Yes, Glorian is absolutely incredible. He's one of the best composers I've ever known. He's worked with Hans Zi...

Re: Testing - TRC?

I just noticed that the 'TRP' is now a 'TRC', huh? Yes, this is why we don't release too much info early on. So even though the storyline has been finished for a long time now, some details come to light when the world actually gets built. In this case, the "P" word in the title actually didn't fit...

Love and respect, Cuebramola. I can't wait to get your feedback on our next game.

Happy 2018!

Sorry I am a day or so late with my annual "thanks for a great 2017, and hope everyone has an even better 2018" message. But here it is none the less! Although we're not selling as many copies of Eschalon as we used to, we still are and we get new players every week. To all our new customers in 2017...

Ironically SpottedShroom, you are definitely one person that I am looking forward to getting feedback from. TRP has technical elements that I feel you might have strong opinions on.

You'll see what I mean.

Re: The State of the Basilisk, Summer 2017

I'm just doing this to annoy you... :) I know. I've been thinking a lot about our "Core Fans" lately, like you PM. The new game is really taking shape, and boy-oh-boy, it is not Eschalon. I mean, I mentioned before that there is something inside that feels "Eschalon-ish" (maybe it's the core rulese...

Re: The State of the Basilisk, Summer 2017

Occasionally? Apart from Fathamurk can you give us some examples of when you've updated your games with new content? Well, in this case it is currently 33% of our games that have had a significant amount of free content added. That should count as "occasionally". We'll see how well the next game do...

Re: What *exactly* are the differences between the classes?

I'll inject a comment by saying I've never really liked the idea of "classes", especially in a RPG that is a solo adventure. I don't like systems that say "you're a wizard, so you can't possibly use this bow" or "your a fighter, so healing skills are a complete mystery to you". I like building a cus...

Re: Concept Art

Since I don't remember where I originally posted therm, here they are again. Basilisk Update 2016 from nearly two years ago. TY, PM. Yep, that fits the timeline well. * About 2 years ago (pretty much January 1, 2016) I had the design doc for TRP finished, concept art made, and Unity up and running....

Concept Art

A while back I posted some early concept art for what was to become "TRP". These images are outdated and have been replaced, so I don't refer to them anymore, but technically they do still represent areas in the game. Since I don't remember where I originally posted therm, here they are again. This ...

Re: a guide to setup eschalon book 1 on ubuntu 16.04 64bit

Great!! Glad it helped.

To anyone else that comes across this solution, it will likely work with all 3 Eschalon games since they all really use very similar engines.

Re: Game crashes on startup (Windows 10)

CB - if you get a fix that works, make a new topic (separate from this one) that identifies the problem and gives a clear solution, and I will sticky it.

Re: Game crashes on startup (Windows 10)

Hmm, I'm out of ideas.

The only thing I can do now is offer a bounty: I'll give a free Steam code to our next game ("TRP") to whomever finds a workaround / fix that gets Eschalon (1,2, & 3) to run on the latest version of Windows. The workaround needs to work for everyone, not just your computer.
