Put all your stat points into Perception except when you need them for Intelligence/Wisdom to learn higher-level spells. I personally don't bother with Unarmed and just wait until I have Lock Melt. Do you know basic UNIX command line? You use "cd" to change directories, and you can type a little bit and then hit tab to auto-complete. If you post some screenshots of what you're doing and where you've put the unpacked program code, then I'll try to help more.

That's the only editor for Book II and III. It's true there is no current Mac app build, because making them is a royal pain and they have to be updated frequently for compatibility with new version of MacOS. Something very weird is going on. It isn't your custom map or the script you're using to reach it - using the same script on an item or a switch, say, works fine. The only PC race options in all three books are humans. There are NPCs of several races: goblins, taurax (basically minotaurs), giants (I), dwarves (II & III), and super-secret spoiler race (II & III).
