Re: Need help with a coding Project

Game Maker for HTML5 sounds ideal for what you need. You could head over to and ask somebody (there is even a "Job offers" section) to cook something up for you. The end product will be an HTML5 page where combat can be simulated. Hell, you will be able to change every parameter on...

Re: Making games = hard work.

Making games is hard? Are you serious?? You imply that I, vdweller, who has started making a game back in 2012 and is still crawling towards the finishing line, had a hard time? You, sir, must be insane! No, you don't have to code your guts off. And you defintely don't have to run the GODDAMN game f...

Shadowrun: Hong Kong

So, Shadowrun: Hong Kong. (Warning: inevitable slightly off-topic rants included) 1) Matrix was improved in my opinion, but it still sucks compared to the Genesis version of Shadowrun. 2) Good story, lots of dialogue. Although I'm used to reading stuff from screens (I read books from my tiny mobile ...

Re: Knights of the Chalice

My goodness, this is the weirdest graphical projection I've ever seen in a game! Is it view... Neck...hurts... Also, the price seems a bit too much. Even if the game has tons of content, prospective buyers might be skeptical. If you would like my complete opinion on that, it'...

Re: Anyone played Journey of the Light?

It's a shame that an otherwise decent game might not make it to Steam due to lack of promotion/fan circles/social media enslavement requirements and perhaps because it's not so "polished" and "streamlined", but games like this go all the way into it (even if they ultimately have the fate that JOTL h...

Re: An old game in the 90's...

Heh, this reminds me of Yoda Stories for Windows.

When we were young, many games looked like, you know, something more than what they will look if we play them again. I guess modern 8D games with 1053452524356 on-screen polygons contribute to this effect.

Re: Another isometric, turn-based, old-school RPG

Hmmm...seems too generic. Might give it a whirl at some point. The characters' heads also seem a bit off.

Re: Pillars of Eternity

Finished, it was actually pretty good. Plus, the removed backer limerick issue provided good popcorn reading in places of justice all over the internets.

Custom graphics/tiles?

I'm not sure if this is the right place (yet) but...

Is it possible to add new tile graphics or object graphics in general in other ways than totally replacing existing assets?

Re: Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall

I enjoyed Dragonfall a lot, storywise. Technical shortcomings aside (there was a lot of frustration on that field), I don't remember the last time where I was so fondly invested in a game's dialogues or atmosphere. Of course there has to be some familiarity with the general concepts of cyberpunk (no...

Re: Difficulty

People, you got it all wrong! Ingredients for 100% successful RPGs involve: 1) Appearance of choices that ultimately have absolutely no impact in the game story. 2) Chicks with enormous boobs who run and fight on high heels. 3) 3D graphics which definitely require the latest $250 graphics card. This...

Re: Happy Memorial Day

gave their lives for us Well these days they also give them for BP, Haliburton, Exxon, Lockheed, Microsoft et cetera. You know, people dying for some good ol' profit over another (always evil) nation. No disrespect for the fallen, it's just a shame who untimately benefits from their demise, who sen...
