Re: Avatar
was amazing but my stupid theater didn't have any over glasses 3D glasses. I also immediately thought Dances with Wolves in space when I watched it. For being 3 hours long I sure didn't feel like I was in the theater for 3 hours. It was very well paced.

Re: Avernum 6 is out.
Here's to hoping that Jeff's next project/game, whatever realm it resides within, includes a scenario/adventure builder. Yep...that would be sweet, heh. ---Rush. Highly Unlikely, Blades of Avernum nearly broke the company. It took too long to write and sold far worse than his other games. I don't t...

Re: Avernum 6 is out.
Dang no windows release until spring. It seems odd that he released Mac version first, there are far more windows users out there aren't there? I like his games and the improved graphics look pretty good but the lack of walking animations drives me crazy. I sure hope his next game includes that! Je...
Re: Overlord
It's less of an RPG, more of a sudo-RTS type game. I have the original on the xBox 360. It was fun enough (for the 12 bucks I paid for it). I guess the upgrade system was more reminiscent of an RPG, but it really plays like an RTS. It's certainly a fun jaunt through though, we don't get to play evil...

I Agree with you soooooo much. I've probably seen the original 40 times since 97 (theater included).

Re: Borderlands
I hadn't really followed this too much but after the decent reviews and the amazon 80/40 deal I pulled the trigger (pun intended). I've been having more fun with this than any FPS game in the past. I'm normally not a huge FPS fan, shying away from Halo and it's ilk but this game has some how memoriz...

Re: Hero Quest:
I had no idea there was a computer version. I used to play Hero Quest when I was a wee young lad. I recently (couple years ago) got back into Board Games and lamented the loss of Hero Quest. I have found games like Descent and Drakon to fill the void in my heart quite nicely. I'll have to give this ...

Re: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition (Director's Cut)
at $20 I'd say the Witcher is a Must Buy. I've sank more than a few nights into this. The sun coming up the next day, me drenched in a cold sweat, surrounded by empty Brawndo Cans, the scramble for a pot of coffee to be semi functional @ work.

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
I'd like to get it but it appears there's no Mac version. EDIT: But even if I had a PC, $47 is just a little expensive. Maybe it's worth it; I don't know. I guess price is subjective, but a game that should entertain you for at least 50 hours and probably more is too expensive? Game prices have not...

Re: Which Spiderweb Software game do you prefer, and why?
Avernum 5 hands down. I've played them all, and probably hundreds of other console and CRPGs. A5 was the first one in many moons that I just couldn't stop playing. I played for several nights into the week hours living off dozens of pots off coffee. I subsequently crashed and slept for damn near 13 ...

Re: Registration the way others do it...?
hmm, did I get this right? redownload the game for a patch?? hope I understood it wrong! This is how most Shareware games and apps are handled anyway. They are usually small enough that it's not a big deal. Even the Sparkle (Mac) updated apps are full downloads. Larger apps like Pixelmator are hand...
Re: Fallout 3
It feels like playing halflife more than an RPG. Yeah, months after playing it I barely recall any feel of "RPG" to it, but I do have fond memories of hunting mutants across the wasteland. What it lacks in "roleplaying" it makes up for in "game". Agree'd, It doesn't ha...

Re: Registration the way others do it...?
Frankly, the use a key to unlock the full version is how most shareware (indie?) type games and programs are handled anyway. And would be my preferred method. As for piracy, the pirates will always find a way. The goal should be to reward paying customers instead of trying to punish pirates (which i...
