It's a black obelisk just outside the eastern, not the northern, entrance. It took me a while to find it, too.

The manual should be in the directory your game is installed in. You can switch weapons without loosing a turn to bare hands, cast a spell and switch back and hack the monster in pieces.

Yeah, I find this quite annoying. Or rather, I find being able to do this quite useful, but the fact that it ...

Re: Many Questions and Strategic help/Advice needed part 1!!

1) Are there other skill trainers later in the game, other than alchemy, thrown weapons, archery, and cartography?
Yes.

From the spells I've seen available for the divination school, you would still have to fight melee or with a bow, but you would be enhanced by your spells. Is that correct ...

Re: Question 8 (small)

8) It seems that heavy armour for belts, gloves, and cloaks is extremely rare! I haven't found any yet, not even in Bordertown. Do I find them in Blackwater?

Thanks

Rob

I found a heavy belt and some heavy gloves in Bordertown, but I didn't get a heavy cloak until Blackwater. I think the loot ...

And you can cast Bless - just take the shield out of your hand while you cast it, then put it back.

Re: What % of game does the demo cover?

Hey All! I downloaded and played through the demo and had a good time. The only thing that stops me from registering is the fact that the demo area was very small and yet it seemed to cover a fairly significant part of the whole map. How big is this game? The demo was 1 town, 2 dungeons, 2 mini ...

Maybe it's because I'm using OpenGL (and have been since installing the game), but the walking speed has never bothered me.

Yeah, the skilled-based automap is probably my favourite feature so far.

I could see an argument for making the most-basic (currently 1 skill point) level of it free, but I wouldn't like it changed any more than that. Drawing accurate maps is a hard thing to do, and it makes sense as a skill.

I encountered this problem when I first tried the game last night, and found a really simple solution - restarting my computer. Seriously. No guarantees it'll work for anyone else, but it solved my problem merrily (FWIW, I did not restart my computer after installing the game itself).

About 10 time here - uhhhhh the wait is killin me - so if I'm +10 how much longer do I have to wait

Well, 12:01 a.m. EST is about 5 hours and 30 minutes from now. But I should stress that BW has not, in fact, promised a 12:01 a.m. release - he said that might happen, but that it would more ...

Warrior, definitely - I always find 'tank'-type characters to be the easiest to handle while trying to learn a game. That said, given the one-person nature of Eschalon, I'll probably spend a little time during character creation trying to squeeze in as many of the bare-bones thief/healer skills as ...

Re: A word from Basilisk Games

Okay, so now we're just waiting for the links to go active, huh? :) Tick ... tock ... tick ... tock...
Should we take that comment as an encouraging sign regarding the possibility of a 12:01 a.m. EST release? ;)

I've been quietly lurking around here for about a year or so after seeing the game ...
