True, but that's not one of the "Safe Deposit" chests.

Dropping that bit of Demon Oil can be fun, though, can't it?

Re: What type of Quests?

I really hope to not have so many "hanging quests" in Book II. When designing quests it is very hard sometimes to think about all the possible options that people will want to take during a quest. An example of this (other than the Priest of Aridell situation) is how many people wanted to...

Re: Just finished Book I - some criticism

I find the argument about save/reload abuse a bit silly. If you don't like it, don't use it. You can play the game straight through without it. By adding layers of difficulty to the save and reload, you're not going to stop people from abusing it; you're just going to make them find another workarou...

Re: Minions of Mirth

Dragonlady,

It says that if you buy the game, you can get up to 100/100/100 (primary, secondary, and tertiary skills classes) with up to six characters in your party in single-player mode.

I think that would take a lot of grinding, though. :)

Re: Just finished Book I - some criticism

Also, if I remember correctly, there is a key to almost every locked door (except for the Easter Egg doors and a few random chests) in the game. If you look hard, you find the key and save the trouble of bashing the door or melting or picking the lock. So all doors on the main quest path are, in fac...

Re: Heroes of Might and Magic

V is actually the only one I've played (as I know one of the writers, and he sent it to me). I found it a lot of fun, though insanely difficult in parts. I know that the game went through a lot of shuffle in the years between IV and V, because of changes in companies and such. I found it entertaining.

Re: Just finished Book I - some criticism

I completely disagree about the lock picking. I found it a very useful skill, as I find standing around bashing objects exceedingly boring. Also, I think it's one of the strong points of Eschalon that there are multiple ways to achieve almost any objective in the game. You can pick a lock, you can b...

Re: Which is you favourite weapon?

Thanks all for your comments, I agree with most of you that Bow is a necesity, but have you tried to use only bow?, it makes things real hard, specially with fast enemies (cause with the slow ones you can always run and shoot again). Regarding thrown weapons, I am also looking forward for Book II, ...

Re: looking for spoiler.... good weapon in crypt

If you mean the axe that several of us have mentioned... When you walk through the incinerator room into the next room, heading toward the young guy (my brain is blanking his name), turn north instead, wander past some piles of wood into a room with a weapon rack. There it is. No spot hidden needed.

Re: character creation help

Can a level 1 character do the cartography quest. I am one of those who believe that automap should be automatic so I really don't like the idea of having to waste points on something that should be standard. Sorry to be off topic here, not to mention appear totally clueless, but I guess I have mis...

Re: Minions of Mirth

Dragonlady,

For the special enchanted items, the power of the enchantments returns as it is repaired. Just keep repairing stuff, and you'll get good enough to fix that shield (and even better stuff that comes later).

Re: Minions of Mirth

You can always dive into the water and try to attract Stinker's attention to come to you. :)

If you keep repairing, eventually you get better at it and can fix the fancier equipment.

Re: Which is you favourite weapon?

The difficulty, Dr. G, is having to choose between a ranged weapon and a melee weapon. Ideally, I like one of each.
