Re: Elemental mage - Intellegence or Perception ?
Aww man, I wish I knew this earlier on. My mage is at intelligence = 50. I assumed intelligence worked for a mage like strength does for a fighter - the higher, the better. It sure seems like it should at least make the spells more effective (e.g., better chance of maxing the damage points for a fir...

Unreachable lever?
Today, I came upon a seemingly unreachable lever northwest of Blackwater (on the other side of the mountain range). I didn't notice it my first time through the game. It's tucked away back in the rocks, but I can't figure out how to get to it. Any hints?

That's correct, you have to flip the three levers again.

Re: Lilith is a Liar! (VERY SPOILERFUL)
Interesting. About the Ossuary path, I don't remember that being one-way. In my first playthrough, I entered the Ossuary via the Oubliette, and I immediately faced the ghost. The encounter left me cursed, and in a pretty weakened state. So I had to turn back. I was able to come and go several times ...

Re: How many times have you replayed Book I ?
I'm on my second go... The first time around I played as a fighter. This time I'm playing as a wizard. It's a bit more challenging, since you have to manage your mana well in order to be successful at it. But I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. I like the wide range of spells, though I've fo...

There's a lever in one of the cages. Look around a bit, you'll find it.

Re: Re-download?
BW, I recommend continuing to build against older versions so that your game is supported on older distros. Not everyone who runs Linux stays up to date with the latest/greatest. Games built against older libs will still work on newer distros. I wrote a series of articles on commercial Linux game de...

Re: October/November Update
Thanks for the update! I'm eagerly looking forward to it, but as others have said, I would rather have a good solid game than a hastily finished one. The ending for Book 1 felt hastily done. I'd rather wait a little and have more content and a more satisfying ending in Book 2!

The Three Musketeers

Re: Excellent game!
Just finished the game! I'm a bit bummed that the Goblin Citadel wasn't larger. I didn't expect to run into Gramuk so soon. But a satisfying game, nonetheless. I'm also bummed I didn't get a chance to spend all that goblin booty! haha I hope we get to carry some of it forward into Book 2, and not st...

Re: Excellent game!
I've finished writing my review of Eschalon: Book 1. If anyone is interested in reading it, you'll find it on my web site here: http://www.mygamecompany.com/Reviews/eschalonbook1.htm I'm really enjoying this game. Still not done yet. Might be getting close. I've got 3 of the 4 goblin keys, and am lo...
