Re: Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall
Well, the game does look very pretty, and nicely designed and smoothly/carefully animated... vdweller : you said you liked the story, so this might sound like a stupidly redundant question, but are the narrative and writing of Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall really that good? And how strong is the ...

Re: Medicine: is it not worth the trouble?
Seriously, at this point at lvl 5 I've got: 19 Endurance 14 Wisdom (with +3 Wisdom ring) 18 Concentration Resistances: 28 , 34 , 34, 34. hp regeneration maybe every 27-32 steps without the +2 Medicine ring (it really ought to be a set number; randomizing that doesn't make sense to me). ...A +2 Medic...

Re: Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines
Did not play it, but from a friend who played both it's very different. And Bloodlines is nothing like Ann Rice books :) (you get to meet homicidal maniacs, mafia and other "nice" people) Well, I guess I have no reason to not break down and finally play it :) None at all! :D EDIT: The mus...

Re: Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines
Oh, and... Vampire: Redemption looks to me like a more 'traditional' kind of action RPG. Haven't played it and have no plan to in the near future. First thing is it's not Troika . So my guess is the writing isn't as good. But, who knows? I might play it in the future. Actually, knowing me I probably...

Re: Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines
ManusDei, thanks, that looks cool... though unfortunately right now I'm playing a Tremere so it wouldn't apply. Oh, well. The Malkavian character is still my favorite. Those dementation options are killer, and she's also got the Obfuscation skill which is really valuable. I'd look for some Tremere m...

Medicine: is it not worth the trouble?
I tentatively bought a +2 Medicine Ring from Gilda, but it didn't appear to do anything. I measured the number changes during camping and there was no detectable difference, though you healed a little quicker (on average) while walking. My question is, apart from that the heal speed should be just n...

Re: Attributes, Skills & Stats
Well, thanks, Randomizer... and of course Slarty for the script. That does help. The numbers I noticed seemed to be sometimes consistent and other times not so consistent, I didn't know what to make of them... though, honestly, that was last night. Today I was starting to make more sense of them but...

Attributes, Skills & Stats
So, looking at the numbers… I’m not sure what to make of them. As far as attributes increasing your hit/armor stats & your resistances. Is there a sheet that explains the calculations?
I won’t bore anyone with the numbers. I found them kind of confusing. I’m not sure what use they’d be, anyhow.

Re: The most noticeable difference ?
I only just started yesterday, so here's just one thing I've noticed: Torches. This isn't a bad thing, just a different strategy/feature/experiment, so bear with me. In Book II, if you stole all the torches in town, they were replaced when you returned. In Book III, if you stole all the torches in t...

Arkos: I think I like that bug. I'm gonna try it.
(Though I told myself, when starting, I'd try to accept bad occurrences and not reload... I haven't been 100% successful in that endeavor, but at least I'm making a try?)

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines
So, I've been playing this game (yes, finally), and damn this thing is good. About what you'd expect from Troika, which is great writing and great visual production... but, also really, really good voice acting. Even the music is good, and I'm usually really critical of music. (Good thing I do like ...

...Yeah, there are still those of us who do visit from time to time but don't post anything because we don't feel like we have anything worthwhile saying. I do that a lot, lately (though I admit I don't visit here very often any longer... since my lengthy sabbatical), so I guess I've changed a lot f...

Re: Some thoughs
Rather than wandering about, the player may wish to establish a home and store his trophies there. Or arrange our trophies in someone else's home, without their permission or anything. Yes? Yes? :o Personally, I like linear games, so I'd be happy to see a tight narrative in Book 3, though I definit...
