Re: First time finished as a mage
Well, I would probably tweak those stats a little myself. Maybe forget the Divination for a while, and put a point or two in either Unarmed Combat (barrel smashing and emergency defense when low on Mana) or Pick Locks.
Re: Birthday!
Blissful belated birthday, Blatherbeard! We have one month left in our "Summer Crunch" coding session. I'll do a "State of the Basilisk" address in late August to share where we are at with our games. How about this? In honor of Blatherbeard's birthday you tell us which game (Za...

Well darn - I love isometric, but that's just a personal preference. Is it turn-based?BasiliskWrangler wrote: ↑June 26th, 2017, 8:08 am The Sci-Fi RPG is not isometric like Eschalon, so the base engines are not compatible, but they are sharing some of the rules set.

Re: Mondering about the non skill books in game
To my knowledge the non-skill books are not summarized anywhere on the web site.
They generally contain some interesting tidbits, but nothing that will impact the game, with one exception (a book which is the subject of a quest).

Max level There is no hard cap on leveling up. I am usually about level 17 or so at the end of the game. End game character? I'm not sure what you mean by this. You can play a pretty virtuous type character if you wish, but you will still be doing in lots of bad guys along the way. Weight and magic ...

Re: guarded gate at Boardertown
There is a quest associated with passing the guarded gate in Bordertown. You get the quest from a man who lives in the Salted Coast area, which is south of Elderhollow. Have you talked to the priest in Aridell yet? That is the beginning of the chain of quests....
Tahira?
Has anyone here played Tahira: Echoes of the Astral Empire?
It is apparently a strategic, single-player, turn-based game. It sounds appealing, but I would appreciate knowing what others around here think of it.

Re: Making money
Also, as the game progresses you will have more types of arrows available for purchase. Some of them can be fairly expensive, but they are more than worth the cost. There is not an unlimited supply of the best arrows, so don't waste them.

Re: What features would you like in a Sci-Fi RPG?
For a turn based Sci-Fi RPG, I'd be in the mood for something close quarters, but with a lot of exploration. It'd be something like Grimrock in space (maybe not so restrictive movement-wise)... an "abandoned" underground moon base that's been overrun by critters/some alien invaders. There...
The Quest
FYI - The Quest just came out on the Mac App store.

Re:
Hmm, anyone play the quest? The comment in the thread said something about the game only been an hour long? There were no other responses relating to it though. I played The Quest a couple of years ago. It's a completely nice game, and I enjoyed the time spent on it. The first person perspective to...

Re: Struggling to Start as a Mage
Also, you might want to start with a point in Foraging instead of Mercantile. It gives you stuff to sell, which is helpful, but it really helps with the hunger issue if you are playing Hardcore.
Re: Oddworld
The games on the Mac App store are Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath. Will probably give at least one of them a try.
