Re: Just got the Crux of fire, and can't find Korren

Nope, kill away. It's actually a pretty fun fight. I typically do that after finishing the quest :)

Hm. Erubor is supposed to be there, yes, but his quest is entirely optional. It directs you to the wizard tower on the river west of Port Kuudad. You can still explore it, even if you don't get the XP.

Re: Just got the Crux of fire, and can't find Korren

Sorry not to get back to you for a while. I hope you're still playing. I agree, it looks like Korren has vanished from the Crius Vindica map! I don't suppose you killed him last time you were there? I don't know how else he would have vanished, and I haven't heard of this problem before. Anyway, the...

Re: Savefile Character / Map Editor v1.0.1 (April 15, 2014)

When you edit a non-savegame map, you only have the opportunity to give the name of an item - the game will fill it in later with the correct information. Editing savegame maps or character saves, you can edit items freely, which means you can make items that don't exist in the game - a sword with 9...

Re: Just got the Crux of fire, and can't find Korren

What are your active quests? Maybe you missed one of the in-between steps? Can you zip up a copy of your save file and post it here? Then we should be able to tell for sure what's wrong. If you click the version number of the game at the launch screen, it should tell you where your saved game files ...

Re: Many thanks to the developers of this game! ^_^

Glad you enjoyed it! Book II is significantly longer than Book I, so I'm not surprised you're still working through it. The popular opinion is that Book III is the shortest, but it has the most fan-made expansions. People have been typo-hunting on here for years, but I'm not surprised there are stil...

Re: Mondering about the non skill books in game

You could pull the content out of the game files pretty easily, I think. One of the files in the Book I distribution is just a renamed zip file (is is still called datapak in Book I?). You can unzip it and look at the text files inside, one of which has the books in it.

There's no way to move points once you've placed them. 5 in both of those skills is perfectly reasonable, though.

Re: some questions? from a newb?

Any end game character you can look up to? I think you're asking for an example of an end-game character. If so, check out the ones in this thread: http://basiliskgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=707 Maybe start at the end since many of the early images are broken now, and people didn't start posti...

Re: Won't open - ERROR: gfx.pak missing

Hm. Unfortunately I don't have a Mac copy of Book I, but I have a few follow-up questions that may help us get closer to the problem. It looks like you're running version 1.06, which is the latest. Did you purchase it direct from Basilisk Games, or from a third party like Steam? What version of Mac ...

As I mentioned above, there is a map editor, although it's not official. It's pretty full-featured.

Re: Engine ?

Namely, open sourcing means I lose all control over the software, and it will be impossible to protect the code form being re-skinned and re-sold as a new game. This bit doesn't have to be true. You can choose a non-commercial license for the code. And of course, I assume you wouldn't offer license...

Re: Engine ?

Some of the regulars around here have been asking about open-sourcing the engine for some time. I guess it couldn't hurt to ask again now. How's about it, BW?
