And of course...my favorite: GIANT SQUID!!! Or, boat to boat battles with NPC's...is your character powerful enough ...

Not so far. I've even gone off and killed a few other things, did the acorn quest. Went back to Shadowmirk, same deal. Third level is inky black void, sounds like I'm walking on dirt. When I get to the edge of the screen, the game freezes, then crashes. Admittedly, I am running this ...

This is after getting the quest to return to Shadowmirk. When I enter the third level the main screen loads as blackness. Nothing to illuminate, no walls to walk into, one ghosty looking acolyte who of course ignores you. Please help! I'm hoping something like that Vela fix will work for this ...
