Re: Kivi's Underworld

Yeah, a three slot inventory for spells only and loot that just gets converted to score is a bit too platformish for me. For some reason, the LoS effect was bugging the heck out of me. Perhaps because it was tile based and not linear. My personal "Diablo Killer" of choice would be Nox. As ...

Re: NEWS ITEM: October 13, 2008 - New Monster Profile Posted

I think Diablo 3 is reaching this point of over-saturation. I've seen so many screenshots and videos at this point, I feel like I've already played the game for a few hours. The "wow" factor is not going to be there anymore for me. Doesn't mean I won't play it, but it does mean there will...

Re: A more interactive world for Book II.

Heh, Oblivious was the name I was planning on giving a Final Fantasy-type spoof that I had ambitiously envisioned.... it would have been glorious indeed... *sigh*

Re: What type of Quests?

I like the surprise, or accidental quests. For example, you take a simple quest to escort an elderly woman home (her home is outside of town)... After dispatching some wolves and other minor vermin, CrazyBernie arrives with Angela at her home, seemingly in the middle of the woods. "Why exactly ...

Re: How did you learn about our game?

All I did was google "old school rpgs" one day when I had a craving.

Go figure, it was the #1 hit.

Hiking around....

So I started a new game, (a 105 roll, ^_^) and I was just wandering around for quest purposes. I headed up to the crypt keeper's place and took a little jaunt onto the dock... and wondered where the heck my fishing pole was >.<

Re: Major skill and minor skill

Actually, I think a combination of predetermined Class skills and "Skill Tagging" (a la Morrowind or Fallout) might be the best idea. Give the class a couple of skills normally associated with it, and give the option of "Tagging" a couple more so that someone who wants to create ...

Re: Major skill and minor skill

Well obviously if a skill has no use it shouldn't be there. Can't really disagree with that. :o But then, every RPG I've ever played has always had a skill or three I've never used... so who am I to say someone else might not find it/them handy?? That being said, and if all skills have their purpose...

Re: Do you want loot/pick lock/disable trap to be changed ?

I realize that BW has already responded with info on new changes in Book II, but I'm feeling the need to flog the dead horse today. I'll save the most controversial subject for last.... so first up.... Not that its really part of this posting, but I have to agree with the nostalgia of roll...

Re: Things you'd like to see in Book II User's Manual

Reading through the manual I've come up with the following I'd like to see... "The story so far..." Would be nice. I don't really think the different endings from Book I should make much of a difference here; it's usually commonplace to just pick an ending and expand upon that for the sequ...

Yeah, he's a nice enough fellow but sometimes I think he tries too hard... That would be the secret Swashbuckler character class being portrayed in Book II. He starts with the Flourish and Devilish Grin skills (they're both feinting abilities that have a chance to lower the enemies' defenses)...

Re: NEWS ITEM: October 13, 2008 - New Monster Profile Posted

Woohoo!!! Well, technically it should read "lest it regenerate its health," or "lest it has a chance to regenerate its health." You don't need the "will" there... er, ok I'll be quiet now. *whistles innocently* Go figure; my most hated subject in school was on...
